Incidents 38 and 39. August 2026
A busy week all round for the team and it’s not over yet!
Incident 38
On Weds evening just before midnight we were called to another vehicle stuck on Ynyslas beach (2 in 24 hours!) but were stood down on our way to the scene as they reported to be out of the sand.
On Thursday evening we took part in our annual team assessment of our water skills as you can see in the photos attached. Luckily, the sea mist came in and cooled the beach down a little as those dry suits are hot!
Incident 39
On Friday at 1433 the team were called to assist a person in difficulty in the water reportedly swimming in the estuary between Ynyslas and Aberdyfi. Borth team were stood down as the incident was nearer the Aberdyfi side so Tywyn Coastguard Rescue Team/ Gwylwyr y Glannau Tywyn, Borth RNLI Lifeboat and Aberdyfi Lifeboat were all tasked to assist.
On Sunday 16th August, we’ve been invited to join in with Borth RNLI’s open day outside the lifeboat station from 1000-1400. We’ll be there with our truck and some of our kit, information to give out, stickers (of course!), and weather permitting we will put our air shelter up to show you, which serves as a base/hub we can use on a prolonged incident. Hope to see you there!
Remember, if you see anyone in difficulty on the cliffs, shoreline or out to sea call 9️⃣9️⃣9️⃣ and ask for the COASTGUARD.
