Gooch Judo Kwai 2000 are next to be celebrated this Volunteers' Week!

One of their nominations said "This Judo Club has made such a difference to all the kids that join it. For my kids it has help them grow and be more independent and a belief in themselves as a person."

16th Scunthorpe Scouts has been nominated for my Volunteers' Week Celebration.

You've told me that all the leaders of 16th Scunthorpe are without doubt the best. They put everything they have into young people, giving them skills for life; building them up and teaching them they can do anything.

They give all their time weekly, their weekends and holidays to provide so much for our children; our scouts couldn’t happen without them. And I can’t thank them enough!

The volunteers at Be APT youth club have been nominated as part of my Volunteers' Week Celebration.

Lindsey, who runs the club, said that these 4 guys work 5 days per week supporting my youth club for free. They have worked so hard supporting me and helping me keep the youth club open and developing it for the local kids. They work tirelessly alongside me every day, running youth sessions and much much more.

They never complain and without the hard work of these guys supporting me behind the scenes the youth club wouldn't be open and the kids wouldn't have the amazing sessions on an evening or in the school holidays.

I am blown away by the hours these guys work for free. No complaint, no expectations, just a passion and heart for the project and kids in Westcliff .

I am humbled by how much they allow me to lean on them and rely on them. Nothing is a chore to them. Nothing is a problem.
Without these guys there would be no Be-APT. We want to show our appreciation and give them the credit they deserve. They are the best.

Scarlett has been nominated to be celebrated as part of Volunteers' Week.

She is a member of the Scunthorpe Little Theatre Club youth wing although she has now joined SLTC as member due to her age.

Someone who nominated Scarlett said "I am a member of SLTC and it is a joy to watch her with the Rising Stars. The way she speaks to them with such kindness and patience when she is choreographing their dance scenes. When they come off stage after a performance in our pantomimes she always has something positive to say to them and it is clear to see that the Rising Stars respect her."

Sarah from Changing Lives through Changing Minds has been nominated as part of my Volunteers' Week Celebration.

Changing Lives through Changing Minds says that Sarah has been an incredible volunteer with us for almost four years, and her impact has been felt across so many areas of the organisation. She has lovingly helped to create and maintain the sensory garden, growing plants from seed and sharing her knowledge so we can better understand and support the sensory needs of the young people we work with.

Sarah is someone the team can always rely on - she consistently shows up with positivity, commitment, and a willingness to help wherever needed.

She has also played a key role in bringing in new volunteers and, through her other role, has supported with fundraising to ensure work can continue.

Her dedication, passion, and generosity truly set her apart.

The Love in A Cup Community Cafe, in Kirton-in-Lindsey, has been nominated as part of my Volunteers' Week Celebration.

Each week they provide a safe, warm and friendly space for all kinds of different people to meet and chat - the food they provide is amazing - and they do it all for free (donations only).

Catriona and 10th Scunthorpe Scouts have been nominated as part of my Volunteers' Week Celebration!

Catriona has dedicated more than 25 years to Scouting, and her contribution to young people and the community is nothing short of extraordinary. One of the very first Girl Scouts in Humberside, Catriona has grown through every stage of the movement - from Scout, to Explorer, to Young Leader, and into a committed adult volunteer whose leadership continues to shape the lives of countless young people.

Her Scouting journey is marked by exceptional achievement. In 2005, Catriona earned the prestigious Queen’s Scout Award, the highest youth award in Scouting. She went on to represent North Lincolnshire at Windsor, taking part in the national celebration and proudly delivering a reading during the service

As Group Scout Lead Volunteer for the 10th Scunthorpe Scout Group, Catriona has been the backbone of the group for many years. Her leadership is practical, consistent, and deeply rooted in care for both volunteers and young people.

Catriona said "It’s lovely to be appreciated but we really don’t expect it as we do what we do because we enjoy it and get joy from the children experiencing scouting in a safe and nurturing environment. We love watching them grow and becoming young adults with the best life skills we can give them. What could be better than that?"
