Exercise Northern Strike 🇺🇸

Recently, a troop of Royal Wessex Yeomanry soldiers deployed to Michigan for Exercise Northern Strike, embedded with 3 Royal Welsh.

The exercise gave our soldiers the opportunity to practise their dismounted skills in a very different environment. They drove US trucks and HMMWVs, trained with US weaponry and regularly flew in Chinooks, both day and night.

One of the highlights? Jumping from a Black Hawk straight into the middle of a lake! 🌊🚁

Joining the Army Reserve gives you access to unique opportunities to train overseas, develop new skills and make unforgettable memories.

– Seeing double! 👀

Against the backdrop of a stunning Salisbury Plain sunrise, a Challenger 2 operates during the thermal crossover. Thanks to its advanced sighting systems, the crew can continue to detect and engage targets effectively, even as temperatures equalise and thermal contrast is reduced.

Want to crew a tank in your spare time? From just 27 days a year, you can train as a Challenger 2 crew member in the Army Reserve.

– Despite weighing over 62 tonnes, the Challenger 2 is exceptionally agile. It can power across unforgiving terrain, come to a near-instant stop, and rapidly reverse when the situation demands, giving its crew impressive mobility on the battlefield.
