Today marks another year without you, Dad. 🕊️
I was only 16 when you left us, and no matter how many years pass, there isn’t a day that goes by when I don’t think about you.
I miss you in the big moments, the ordinary moments, and all the moments in between. I still wish I could pick up the phone, hear your voice, ask for your advice, or simply spend one more day walking and talking with you.
As I’ve grown older, I’ve come to appreciate even more the incredible man you were. You had the biggest heart, always putting others before yourself and never thinking twice about helping someone in need.
You loved the outdoors, found joy in the simplest things, and lived your life with kindness, integrity, and quiet strength. I don’t think you ever realised just how many lives you touched.
Uncle Bernard called you the “Golden Boy” in your eulogy, and I understand that more with every passing year.
It wasn’t because everything came easily to you; it was because of the way you made people feel. You gave your time, your love, and your whole heart so freely. As he said so perfectly, “all whom he touched felt touched by gold.” I know I did.
Thank you, Dad, for the 16 years we had together. They could never have been enough, but they were filled with love, laughter, and lessons that have stayed with me for the rest of my life.
Thank you for teaching me the importance of kindness, generosity, integrity, hard work, caring for others, and finding peace in nature.
You continue to inspire me every single day, and whenever I try to be a better person, I know that so much of who I am is because of you.
I often wonder what you’d think of the life I’ve built and the person I’ve become. More than anything, I hope you’d be proud. I hope you can see the little pieces of you that I carry with me every day, because they are some of the things I’m most proud of.
I miss you more than words will ever be able to say, and I always will. I carry you with me in everything I do.
I love you, Dad. ❤️
Forever my hero. Forever loved. Forever missed. ✨
