My husband James and I were delighted to attend an art exhibition showcasing the remarkable work of local artist Leigh Ferris at South Hill Park Arts Centre on Friday 12th June 2026.

The exhibition highlighted Leigh's creativity and artistic talent, providing visitors with the opportunity to appreciate a wonderful collection of inspiring artwork. It was a pleasure to support local arts and celebrate the contribution that artists make to our community's cultural life.

Thank you to Leigh Ferris and everyone at South Hill Park Arts Centre for hosting such an enjoyable and memorable event.

I was delighted to attend the Festival of Food and Music at South Hill Park Arts Centre on Saturday 6th June 2026.

The festival brought together an excellent variety of food vendors, talented musicians, and members of the local community for a vibrant day of entertainment and celebration. It was wonderful to see so many residents and visitors enjoying the fantastic atmosphere and supporting local businesses and performers.

The Mayor and Consort would like to thank everyone involved in organising this successful event and helping to make it such an enjoyable occasion for all.

A wonderful way to launch the Mayor's Charity!

This photograph was taken at the start of the Bracknell Together Walk on Sunday 31st May at South Hill Park, where I was delighted to join Gareth and the team from The Wayz, along with staff, young people, mascots and families.

It was inspiring to see so many people come together in support of this fantastic cause. I had the pleasure of watching The Wayz set off on their walk and would like to say a huge well done to everyone who took part. Your enthusiasm, commitment and community spirit were truly inspiring.

Thank you to all who supported the event and helped make it such a positive and memorable start to my Mayor's Charity year.

🌟 Exciting news for our community! 🌟

I was very proud to officially unveil our very first Communication Board at Great Hollands Recreation Ground, on 3rd June.

The board helps children and families of all communication abilities connect, play, and interact together — making our park more inclusive and welcoming for everyone. 💙

More communication boards will be installed across our parks shortly.

Thank you to all who attended to celebrate this important step towards accessible community spaces for all.

Thank you for supporting inclusive play and communication. We encourage families to explore the board together during your park visits.

🎉 I am looking forward to launching the Bracknell Together Walk 2026 in support of my chosen charity, The Wayz Youth Club, in association with the Rotary Club of Easthampstead.

2026 marks an incredible milestone — 60 YEARS of The Wayz supporting and empowering young people in our community. To celebrate, we are aiming for 60 people to take part in this special community walk.

Join us as we come together to support a fantastic local charity, celebrate six decades of impact, and make a difference for future generations.

Every step counts! 👟💙

📆Sunday 31st May at 10:00 at South Hill Park

I was delighted to visit two parent and pre-school children’s groups last week and meet the participants.

On Monday morning, I joined the group at Kerith’s K2 building. It was wonderfully organised, with songs, puppets and a Bible story alongside free play. I was particularly impressed by their sensory room, with its subdued lighting, calming colours and a beautiful projection of a goldfish pond on the floor—I must admit, I felt much better after just five minutes in there!

On Thursday morning, I visited “Small Time” at St Paul’s in Harmanswater. There was plenty of free play with a wide range of toys, while parents enjoyed a chat downstairs. This was followed by songs and a story accompanied by a guitar in the versatile church space, which offered lots of room for the little ones to move around.

The wonderful volunteers at both venues were incredibly welcoming—thank you for all that you do. It was lovely to see children and parents alike enjoying these sessions so much.
