Unfortunately, the climbing frame at Poulton Park is closed for safety reasons.

We understand this is disappointing, but we're looking at how we can get it fixed and reopened as soon as possible.

At last night’s Full Council meeting, councillors unanimously backed proposals to improve safety on Silver Street and called for action to address traffic concerns across Bradford on Avon.

The proposals from Wiltshire Council’s highways team include wider pavements, courtesy crossings and an improved pedestrian route, alongside restricting uphill traffic during busier daytime hours, for example from 7am to 7pm. There would be no restrictions on downhill traffic or uphill movements outside these hours.

As part of the motion, councillors also asked Wiltshire Council to look at:

🟢 introducing a 20mph speed limit across the town
🟢 improvements to Market Street
🟢 traffic mitigation measures for the north side of town.

Last week, the Town Wardens have been giving one of the town's old red phone boxes a refresh.

The phone box on Church Street, next to the Catholic church, is now home to a selection of tourist information leaflets — and a handy town map.

It will soon feature information about some of our climate and nature projects, as well as information from the museum.

Including this one, we now look after five phones boxes in the town.

Wessex Water will be carrying out work in Pound Lane from Tuesday 1 to Friday 4 September to extend the life of an existing sewage pipe.

During the works, a temporary pipeline will be installed via Culver Close and Barton Farm Country Park. This will be used for short periods to bypass the section of pipe being worked on.

Pedestrian and vehicle crossings will be installed along the temporary pipeline to help maintain access while the works are taking place.
