Welcome to August’s monthly round-up film.

In this episode we’re telling you more about a trailblazing AI project at St Luke’s Hospital which detects skin cancer earlier and helps reduce waiting times.

Dermatology staff can use the AI software to rapidly analyse skin lesions and flag small moles that are most likely to be cancerous, with far greater precision than standard techniques. Early evidence suggests it could be a game-changer – significantly reducing the number of urgent referrals that need review by dermatologists, reducing waiting times and allowing the team to concentrate on the most urgent cases.

🏆 Let’s hear it for our latest : the Vascular Secretaries!

This small but mighty team works incredibly hard behind the scenes at BRI to keep our patients safe, informed, and cared for.

Despite facing major staffing shortages, Jodie, Sophie, and Irtaza have achieved something truly remarkable. One year ago, patients faced a six-week delay to receive their clinic letters. Today, thanks to this team's rapid efficiency, those letters are typed on the exact same day as the clinic appointment!

Admin Team Leader Natalie, who nominated them, said: "The team presents a united front, colleagues always support each other and this shows in the positive attitude and atmosphere in the office."

The Vascular service provides vital clinics across Bradford, Calderdale, Huddersfield, and Airedale.
