West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Authority (WYFRA) has today unanimously agreed to revoke the explosives storage licence held by Top Shotter Fireworks Ltd for its premises at 53 Westgate, Bradford.

The decision follows an investigation by West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (WYFRS) after information was received concerning social media content associated with the business.

🔥 Bonfire Night is coming to HQ!

Looking for a brilliant family night out this November? We’ve got just the thing!

The Fire Fighters Charity is hosting a Bonfire & Fireworks Extravaganza at our headquarters on Friday, 6th November, with the event proudly supported by West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Expect an evening packed with entertainment, including:
🔴 A traditional bonfire
🔴 Two fireworks displays, including a shorter, quieter display for younger children and those sensitive to loud noises
🔴 Fairground rides
🔴 Food and drink stalls

Here’s what you need to know:
🔴 Friday, 6th November
🔴 Headquarters, Birkenshaw, BD11 2DY
🔴 Gates open at 5:30pm
🔴 Quieter fireworks display at 7:45pm
🔴 Main fireworks display at 8:35pm

Tickets are £8:00 for adults and £4:00 for children, with a family ticket for one adult and one child available for £10:00, when booked in advance.

Every penny raised will support The Fire Fighters Charity, helping provide lifelong physical and emotional support to serving and retired fire and rescue colleagues and their families.

Please note that on-site parking is limited to pre-booked accessible spaces for Blue Badge holders.

Do you or a loved one use emollients?

You may not realise that emollients make fabrics more flammable. If you smoke or use an open flame, the risk of fire is higher.
It’s important to continue using these products to treat skin conditions but take action to reduce the fire risk.

To reduce the risk:
🔥 Avoid smoking or open flames when wearing fabric with emollients dried on them.
🚭 Never smoke in bed.
🫧 Wash clothing and bedding frequently.

🚒 Incident | Bradford

Firefighters are currently dealing with a fire at a derelict building on John Street, Bradford, BD1.

Residents in the surrounding area are advised to keep windows and doors closed due to smoke coming from the incident.

Please avoid the area where possible to help maintain access for emergency vehicles and crews attending the incident.

👀 Week 6: Training, teamwork and putting skills to the test!

Come behind the scenes as our newest firefighter recruits take on another action-packed week of training!

It’s Week 6 of Course 216, and both syndicates have been busy building the skills, confidence and teamwork needed for life on the frontline.

🔥 Syndicate 1: Breathing Apparatus (BA)
Our recruits continued their BA training, putting their skills to the test through fire attack techniques, search exercises and practical training scenarios. They were also introduced to the Entry Control Officer (ECO) Board, a vital piece of safety equipment used to monitor firefighters while wearing breathing apparatus.

🔥 Syndicate 2: Road Traffic Collisions (RTC)
From stabilising vehicles and using specialist rescue equipment to safely extricating casualties, recruits tackled a series of realistic RTC scenarios, bringing together their newly developed rescue techniques and emergency care skills.

It’s been another demanding week of hands-on learning, determination and teamwork as our future firefighters continue their journey towards becoming operational firefighters.

Fantastic effort from everyone on Course 216. Keep up the great work!
