We're very excited to be featured in the latest issue of Left Cultures!

Bradford-based artist collective Mek Summat discuss their long-standing fascination with pin badges, and how it grew into our 2025 collaborative exhibition, ‘Pins for Peace’.

The exhibition explored the enduring relationship between peace movements and these one-inch works of art, showcasing 31 contemporary artists' giant-scale pin badge designs, each inspired by our collection.

You can pick up a copy of Left Cultures at https://leftcultures.com/

Did you know we have a local groups & contacts page on the Yorkshire CND website?

We would like local groups to provide us with an up-to-date bio about them, so we can update each page. A photo or two would also be amazing!

To get in touch, please email: [email protected]

You can view the current pages via the link in the comments ☺️

On this day in 1981, a group of around 40 women began a 120-mile march from Cardiff to RAF Greenham Common. Along their way, they were hosted by women’s peace and solidarity groups. They arrived after 10 days of walking on 5th September 1981.

What started as a single march became a peace camp for nearly 20 years outside the gates of the base. But the impact extended far beyond those gates. Women who experienced Greenham, even briefly, returned to their communities transformed, carrying the lessons of collective action and sustained activism to wider social justice movements.

Their legacy reminds us that movements aren't just about immediate political change; they're about building people who can build movements.

📣 CALLING ALL WALKERS

Join us on 26th September (International Day for the Total Elimination of Nuclear Weapons) for a 6 mile walk around Fylingdales in the North York Moors. On the walk, we'll share more information about the local environment and you'll learn more about why Yorkshire CND have been campaigning against the base over the years.

We encourage walkers to gain sponsors for the walk, with any funds raised going towards the campaign work of Yorkshire CND.

Please fill out the form (in the comments) to express your interest in joining us. We can also assist with setting up a sponsorship page on GoFundMe and a physical form for you to share.
