Brandon appliance along with Bury st Edmund’s animal rescue team backed up by 2 appliances from Norfolk attended a Horse stuck in the river/muddy area.

Upon arrival crews quickly established the horse was stuck up to the top of its neck in thick mud. The access was poor for Bury ST Edmund’s unimog to reach. With a difficult rescue it was rewarded with a great outcome,

On Tuesday night we attended a quantity of rubbish on fire along a road at Santon Downham, this was a large amount of rubbish that had been fly tipped, crews used 1 x hose reel jet to extinguish the rubbish,

On Tuesday evening we attended a house that had been struck by lightning, on arrival the property had smoke and fire issuing out the roof, crews used Breathing Apparatus and hose reels to bring the fire under control, all persons where accounted for and crews remained at the scene during the night to dampen down,

🫧🧽 WOW! What a day it has been today at the Firefighter Charity car wash the crew has managed to raise a whopping £1071.90 and managing to clean a staggering 80 vehicles!

Over the last 24hrs we have attended RTC involving 1 x HGVs and 1 x car on the A1065 along side Fire Appliances from Mildenhall and Newmarket, crews carried out and casualty treatment and scene safety,
Also attended a Lorry fire on A14 where crews assisted with fire fighting and also a pile of fly tipped logs and wood chipping at Wangford Road Lakenheath on fire, crews used hose reel to extinguish,

The crew were mobilised to a fire in the open upon arrival found a 3m x 3m area of woodland smouldering the crew used a shovel to expose embers and buckets of water and a water backpack to douse the area.

The area was located using what3words.

It is crucial to take extra care when lighting campfires and using disposable barbecues in the hot weather as it poses a high risk for forest fires to break out. 🚒🌲
