🚒 Fire In The Open 🔥

The crew from Brandon were mobilised to a fire in the open upon arrival an abandoned pile of tyres, car parts and other waste was well alight. A hose reel jet was used to extinguish the flames and then chromes were used to pull apart the waste and dampen down.

Another example of poorly managed waste where fire spread to surrounding bushes and trees could have easily occurred.

The crew from Brandon were mobilised to a fire in the open, upon arrival it was found an abandoned pile of dumped waste well alight, a hose reel jet and chromes were used to pull apart and extinguish the fire.

A prime example of how important it is to dispose of waste correctly at designated waste recycling sites or using a licensed waste carrier/disposer.

Our team in South Wales continue to work hard on day 3 of their deployment.

Coming across unusual obstacles such as hills hasn’t stopped them, and today will be another full day of working hard alongside South Wales Fire and Rescue Service and other National Resilience teams

Thank you to them, their families and their employers for the continued support, sacrifice and understanding whilst they are away

🚒🚒🚒 National resilience 🚒🚒🚒

Today Suffolk fire and rescue are sending more personnel to assist with the wildfires in Hampshire and Wales.

The appliances are crewed with firefighters from all across Suffolk including one firefighter from Brandon.

Natalie will say good bye to her family today and is not expected to return until Thursday at which time further crews could be sent.

With this unprecedented weather it is important services support each other and give aid as seen at Dunwich which had 18 different services supporting Suffolk fire and rescue.
