🔥 The recent Government alert has increased awareness of wildfire risks, which has been very important with the recent weather.

Our crews are working around the clock to keep our communities safer, and that includes our fantastic control team who take calls and help mobilise firefighters every day.

They’ve noticed a sharp spike in non-emergency 999 calls since the alert.

Please remember that 999 should only be used to report emergencies.

Where there’s a fire, visible plumes of smoke, people at risk, get to safety and call 999.

When every second counts, teamwork makes the difference.

Yesterday’s grass fire was tackled by dedicated crews working in challenging conditions of heat, smoke and rapidly spreading flames.

We’re extremely proud of the professionalism and commitment shown by everyone on scene.

Please remember that during periods of warm, dry weather, even a small spark can quickly become a major incident.

England were bringing it home tonight…

Unfortunately, so were we.

While everyone else was watching the World Cup, our crew spent the evening on an A1 slip road dealing with an environmental protection incident. No penalties, no extra time, just absorbent pads, traffic management and paperwork.

Calling all parents and carers 📢 Have you had a chat with your child about the dangers of open water? It's going to be hot this weekend, and it's never too late to have a chat that could save their life. Here are some things to cover:

Cold water shock happens in seconds.

The sudden drop in temperature can cause an involuntary gasp for breath, panic and loss of control. Even strong swimmers can find themselves struggling.

In a matter of minutes, somebody could drown.

If someone gets into difficulty:

❌ Never enter the water yourself - you could become a second casualty.

Stay Out of Unauthorised Swimming Spots

Looks inviting, but it isn't always safe.

Many gravel pits, reservoirs and rivers around Lincolnshire have:
• Sudden deep water
• Steep drop-offs
• Hidden machinery
• Strong currents
• Cold temperatures all year round

There may be no lifeguards or rescue equipment nearby.

Choose designated swimming venues instead.
