The renewal of the interpretation board at the Flodden Monument, the biggest board on the site, sees the completion of the recent improvements to the Battlefield Trail.

All of the new boards are now in place, and just in time for our guided walks to celebrate the 510th anniversary of the battle on the 9th and 10th September.

Walks start on both days at 2pm and include a demonstration of the weapons used in the battle. Meet at Branxton Village Hall (TD12 4SN).

There is no charge for the walks, but donations towards the upkeep of the Battlefield Trail would be most welcome. We hope to see you there!

Another two interpretation boards updated this week. “Let Battle Commence” and “Outflanked” can be found at the highest points on the trail offering stunning views of the battlefield.

As an entirely self-supporting charity, all of the improvements we make to the visitor experience on the Battlefield Trail are only made possible thanks to the generous donations made by you.

Continuing our improvements to the Battlefield Trail, this week saw the renewal of one of our existing interpretation boards which was in need of some TLC.

As always, many thanks to our visitors and donors without whom we wouldn’t be able to continue our work on this historic site.

After several months in the planning, this week we installed two new interpretation boards on the Battlefield Trail.

Following projects about the battles of Carham and Flodden, and after many months of planning, the time is now right to promote a new, and wide-ranging project that will investigate many and varied aspects of the people, the unique heritage, and the one thousand years of the Anglo Scottish Borderlands.

An introductory website www.border-story.org.uk is now online and this gives an idea of the topics that will be covered by the project. If you are interested in any particular part of our Border history and heritage, and are willing to be involved in the project please have a look at the website and contact us via the registration form.

A brand-new four-dimensional project investigating the similarities & differences between people and communities on either side of the Anglo / Scottish Border.
