David Relph is our candidate for Braunton Rural. David says:
"If elected, I would have three main priorities: to increase the amount of genuinely affordable housing built in and around Braunton; to protect the natural environment, which is such a integral part of living here in North Devon; and to encourage more (especially younger) people to get involved in local politics. If we do these three things, our part of Devon will be a better place for everyone. I will also support and work on any issues that people in and around Braunton raise with me as their representative".

We (well Us Greenies anyway!) are excited to announce that Carla Denyer, Co-Leader of the Green Party, will be visiting North Devon this week as part of her tour of the South west.
North Devon Green Party is hosting a public meeting in Barnstaple Library (Room 3B) at 7pm on Thursday 13th July, where Carla will share her thoughts on topics of local and national interest.
Carla is the Green Party’s parliamentary candidate for Bristol Central ('new' constituency), and, as a Bristol City councillor introduced the world's first Climate Emergency motion.
The audience will get a chance to put their questions to Carla after a refreshments break.
We hope to see as many of you there as possible.

Venue: Castle Centre, 25 Castle St, Barnstaple EX31 1DR
Date: Wednesday 5th October

Peter will talk about offshore wind as the 21st century replacement for crude oil as the energy source that powers the worldwide economy. Peter has been working on exploring the ability of offshore wind to provide cheap power for electricity storage and to create alternative fuels for the ‘difficult to decarbonise’ sectors like shipping, air travel, HGVs. This is the so-called ‘Power to X’ agenda.
Peter established his first RE business Farm Energy in North Devon in1988. Farm Energy was involved in
many of the first wind farm developments throughout the UK and Ireland. The company developed numbers of onshore wind farms in both countries and in 1999 initiated the London Array project in the Thames Estuary, which was until recently the world’s largest offshore wind farm.
In 2007 Farm Energy launched the Atlantic Array offshore wind farm in the Bristol Channel off the North Devon coast. Peter is currently a director of Morwind Ltd, exploring new floating wind opportunities in the UK’s Celtic Sea region.
