ফ্যামিলি কার্ড যদি রাষ্ট্রের সামাজিক সহায়তা কর্মসূচি হয়, তাহলে সেটি কোনো রাজনৈতিক দলের নেতা-কর্মীর ব্যক্তিগত প্রভাব বিস্তারের হাতিয়ার হতে পারে না। সামাজিক মাধ্যমে ছড়িয়ে পড়া এই ভিডিওতে রাতে ফ্যামিলি কার্ড পৌঁছে দেওয়া নিয়ে এক যুবদল নেতাকে ঘিরে প্রশ্ন ও অভিযোগ উঠেছে। ঘটনা যাই হোক, একটি বিষয় পরিষ্কার: সরকারি সহায়তা বণ্টনের প্রতিটি ধাপ হতে হবে নিয়মতান্ত্রিক, স্বচ্ছ এবং রাজনৈতিক প্রভাবমুক্ত। কার্ড কারা পাচ্ছেন, কোন যোগ্যতায় পাচ্ছেন এবং কার মাধ্যমে বিতরণ হচ্ছে, তার স্পষ্ট জবাবদিহিতা থাকতে হবে। মানুষের দারিদ্র্য ও প্রয়োজনকে রাজনৈতিক সুবিধা তৈরির সুযোগ হিসেবে ব্যবহার করা চলবে না।

If Family Cards are part of a state welfare programme, their distribution must never become a tool for political influence or personal access. A circulating video has raised questions about a Jubo Dal leader allegedly delivering a Family Card at night. Whatever the full circumstances, the principle must be clear: public assistance must be distributed through transparent, accountable and politically neutral procedures. Citizens deserve to know who qualifies, how recipients are selected and who is authorised to distribute these benefits. Poverty and public welfare must never be exploited for political advantage.

একজন অসহায় নারীর ঘর ভাঙচুরের অভিযোগ যদি কোনো রাজনৈতিক নেতার বিরুদ্ধে ওঠে, তাহলে সেটিকে দলীয় পরিচয়ের আড়ালে চাপা দেওয়ার সুযোগ নেই। প্রকাশিত ভিডিওতে এক নারী তার ঘর ভাঙার অভিযোগ তুলে ক্ষোভ ও প্রতিবাদ জানাচ্ছেন। অভিযোগ সত্য হলে এটি শুধু একজন নারীর ওপর অন্যায় নয়, বরং রাজনৈতিক প্রভাব ব্যবহার করে সাধারণ মানুষের অধিকার কেড়ে নেওয়ার ভয়ংকর উদাহরণ। ঘটনার দ্রুত, নিরপেক্ষ ও স্বচ্ছ তদন্ত করতে হবে এবং অভিযুক্ত যেই হোক, প্রমাণিত হলে তাকে আইনের আওতায় আনতে হবে। রাজনীতি মানুষের ঘর রক্ষা করার জন্য, ঘর ভাঙার ক্ষমতা দেখানোর জন্য নয়। দল নয়, আইন সবার উপরে থাকতে হবে।

A woman has publicly protested after alleging that her home was vandalised, with the accusation reportedly involving a BNP leader. If these allegations are substantiated, political identity must never be allowed to shield anyone from accountability. Ordinary citizens should not have to fear losing their homes, safety or dignity because of someone’s political influence. Authorities must conduct a prompt, impartial and transparent investigation, establish exactly what happened and take legal action against anyone found responsible. Politics should protect people’s rights, not become a licence to intimidate or destroy. No party and no political leader should stand above the law.

কানাডার আদালত বিএনপিকে আবারও “সন্ত্রাসী সংগঠন” হিসেবে আখ্যা দিয়েছে। এমন গুরুতর রাজনৈতিক দাবির ক্ষেত্রে আবেগ নয়, পূর্ণ আদালতের রায়, মামলা নম্বর এবং আইনি প্রেক্ষাপট জনসমক্ষে পরিষ্কারভাবে তুলে ধরা জরুরি। দেশের মানুষ প্রচারণা নয়, প্রমাণ চায়। দল নয়, সত্য ও আইনের শাসনই শেষ কথা হওয়া উচিত।

Canadian court has again labelled the BNP a “terrorist organisation.” A claim this serious should be backed by the full judgment, case number and proper legal context, not simply a headline. Political reporting must distinguish clearly between a court’s findings in a particular case and an official state designation. People deserve evidence, transparency and accountability, not political propaganda from any side.

থানায় ধর্ষণের মামলা করার পর যদি একজন বাবাকে কুপিয়ে হত্যা করা হয়ে থাকে, তাহলে এটি শুধু একটি হত্যাকাণ্ড নয়, এটি আমাদের বিচার ও নিরাপত্তা ব্যবস্থার জন্য ভয়াবহ সতর্কবার্তা। একজন বাবা তার সন্তানের জন্য ন্যায়বিচার চাইতে গিয়ে যদি নিজের জীবন হারান, তাহলে সাধারণ মানুষ কোথায় নিরাপত্তা খুঁজবে? এই ঘটনার দ্রুত, নিরপেক্ষ ও স্বচ্ছ তদন্ত প্রয়োজন। হত্যার সঙ্গে জড়িত প্রত্যেককে আইনের আওতায় আনতে হবে এবং ধর্ষণের মামলাটিও যেন কোনো চাপ বা ভয়ভীতির কারণে ধামাচাপা না পড়ে তা নিশ্চিত করতে হবে। অভিযোগকারী, ভুক্তভোগী ও তাদের পরিবারের নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিত করা রাষ্ট্রের দায়িত্ব। ন্যায়বিচার চাইতে গিয়ে আর কোনো পরিবার যেন নতুন করে লাশ না পায়।

If reports that a father was hacked to death after filing a r**e case are confirmed, this is far more than another murder. It raises a terrifying question about whether ordinary people can safely seek justice. A father seeking justice for his child should never have to pay with his life. Authorities must conduct an immediate, impartial and transparent investigation, bring everyone responsible for the killing to justice, and ensure that the original r**e allegation is not buried through threats or intimidation. Protecting victims, complainants, witnesses and their families is a fundamental responsibility of the state. Seeking justice must never become a death sentence.

কলকাতার একটি হোটেলে ভয়াবহ অগ্নিকাণ্ডে অন্তত ৯ জন বাংলাদেশি নাগরিকের মৃত্যুর খবর অত্যন্ত মর্মান্তিক। প্রকাশিত তথ্যে জানা যাচ্ছে, নিহতদের মধ্যে একটি শিশুও রয়েছে। বিদেশের মাটিতে আমাদের নাগরিকদের এমন করুণ মৃত্যু শুধু শোকের বিষয় নয়, এটি দ্রুত ও দায়িত্বশীল রাষ্ট্রীয় পদক্ষেপেরও দাবি রাখে। নিহতদের পরিচয় নিশ্চিত করা, মরদেহ দেশে ফিরিয়ে আনা, আহত বা ক্ষতিগ্রস্তদের সহায়তা এবং আগুনের প্রকৃত কারণ জানতে ভারতীয় কর্তৃপক্ষের সঙ্গে সমন্বয় করে স্বচ্ছ তদন্ত নিশ্চিত করা জরুরি। পরিবারগুলো যেন তথ্যের জন্য দ্বারে দ্বারে না ঘোরে। বাংলাদেশ সরকার ও সংশ্লিষ্ট মিশনের কাছ থেকে আমরা দ্রুত, পরিষ্কার ও মানবিক পদক্ষেপ প্রত্যাশা করি।

Bangladesh’s authorities and diplomatic mission should coordinate closely with Indian authorities to ensure a transparent investigation into how this tragedy happened and whether any safety failures contributed to the loss of life. Families deserve answers, dignity and immediate support, not silence or uncertainty.

হায়রে ক্ষমতা! এই জীবনে দুই দলের রাজনীতিই দেখার সৌভাগ্য হলো। যা শিখলাম তা খুবই হতাশাজনক: বাংলাদেশের রাজনীতিতে মুখ বদলায়, দল বদলায়, ক্ষমতার পালাবদল হয়, কিন্তু রাজনৈতিক প্রতিহিংসা আর সহিংসতার সংস্কৃতি যেন বারবার একই জায়গায় ফিরে আসে।

নোয়াখালীর চর জুবিলী ইউনিয়নের সাবেক চেয়ারম্যান ও সুবর্ণচর উপজেলা আওয়ামী লীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদক হানিফ চৌধুরীর ছোট ভাই জয়নাল আবেদীন বিএনপি-সংশ্লিষ্টদের হামলা ও নির্যাতনের শিকার হয়েছেন বলে যে অভিযোগ সামনে এসেছে, তা অত্যন্ত উদ্বেগজনক। এই ঘটনার অভিযোগের অবশ্যই নিরপেক্ষ তদন্ত হওয়া উচিত এবং দায়ী ব্যক্তিদের রাজনৈতিক পরিচয় যাই হোক না কেন, আইনের আওতায় আনতে হবে।

রাজনৈতিক মতপার্থক্য কখনো একজন মানুষের ওপর হামলা বা প্রতিশোধ নেওয়ার বৈধতা দিতে পারে না। আওয়ামী লীগের সময়ে অন্যায় হয়ে থাকলে তার জবাব বিএনপির সময়ে আরেকটি অন্যায় হতে পারে না। এক দলের অন্যায়ের প্রতিশোধ যদি আরেক দল একই পদ্ধতিতে নেয়, তাহলে সরকার বা ক্ষমতার মুখ বদলাবে, কিন্তু বাংলাদেশের রাজনৈতিক সংস্কৃতি বদলাবে না।

সময় বদলায়, দিন বদলায়, ক্ষমতার পালাবদল হয়। আজ যে ক্ষমতাবান, কাল সে ক্ষমতাহীন হতে পারে। তাই প্রতিহিংসার রাজনীতি নয়, আমাদের প্রয়োজন আইনের শাসন, রাজনৈতিক সহনশীলতা এবং এমন একটি রাষ্ট্র যেখানে একজন নাগরিকের নিরাপত্তা তার দলীয় পরিচয়ের ওপর নির্ভর করবে না। অন্যায়ের হিসাব সময় ঠিকই রাখে।

What a tragedy of power. In my lifetime, I have had the opportunity to witness the politics of both major parties, and what I have learned is deeply disappointing: faces change, parties change and power changes hands, yet the culture of political revenge and violence in Bangladesh seems to return again and again.

The allegation that Joynal Abedin, the younger brother of former Char Jubili Union chairman and Subarnachar Upazila Awami League General Secretary Hanif Chowdhury, was attacked and assaulted by individuals reportedly associated with the BNP is deeply concerning. The allegation deserves an impartial investigation, and anyone responsible should be brought before the law regardless of political affiliation.

Political disagreement can never justify attacking or taking revenge against another human being. If injustices occurred under the Awami League, the answer cannot be another injustice under the BNP. If one party responds to the wrongdoing of another by repeating the same behaviour, the government and the faces in power may change, but Bangladesh’s political culture will remain exactly where it was.

Times change, days change and power changes hands. Those who hold power today may be powerless tomorrow. Bangladesh therefore needs the rule of law and political tolerance, not a cycle of retaliation. We need a country where a citizen’s safety does not depend on their political identity. Time has a way of keeping account of injustice.

যদি এরাই দাড়ি-টুপি পরা না হয়ে রেইনবো পার্টির হতো, তাহলে আজ এই হারামজাদারাই সবার আগে তাদের ওপর হামলা চালাত, পিটিয়ে বেড়াত, আর নৈতিকতার বুলি আওড়াত। নীতি যদি ব্যক্তি বা পরিচয় দেখে বদলে যায়, তাহলে সেটা নীতি নয়, সেটা নিছক ভণ্ডামি।

If these people were not wearing beards and caps but instead belonged to the so called “rainbow party,” the very same hypocrites would likely be the first to attack them, condemn them, and preach morality. If your principles change depending on who the person is, then those are not principles at all, they are simply hypocrisy.
