We are deeply saddened by the devastating flooding that has affected communities across Nepal, causing loss of life, destruction of homes and widespread disruption.

Powys is proud to be home to a valued Gurkha community, and many local families have close ties to the areas affected. At this difficult time, our thoughts are with everyone impacted by the disaster, including those here in Powys who may be worried about loved ones and friends.

On behalf of Powys County Council, I want to express our solidarity with the people of Nepal and our sincere condolences to those who have lost family members, homes or livelihoods.
