Our childrenโ€™s corner is packed with stories that spark imagination โ€” daring quests, curious creatures, space exploration, and everything in between. And when little readers need a break, our activity desk is ready with colouring sheets, puzzles, and creative fun.

Reading is one of the most powerful gifts we can give children. It builds confidence, strengthens learning, and opens the door to endless adventures.

If anyone has spare time to water the plants around the library it would be greatly appreciated. Thankfully it seems the heatwaves are dying down but it is still very hot and dry as we unfortunately have little to no rain at the moment. You'd be doing the community a great service helping with the upkeep of our wonderful library.

There is also an extended hose available that reaches around most of the front of the library, but you would need a watering can for the plants around the corner. Please message the library through Facebook Messenger to request access.

โœ…Successful 10th Anniversaryโœ…

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us today. It was truly uplifting to see so many library users, volunteers, families, and friends come together to celebrate this special milestone. Your support, kindness, and enthusiasm made the day feel incredibly meaningful.

Thank you to everyone who helped bring the event to life โ€” from setting up and organising activities to baking cakes and keeping the festivities running smoothly.

A special thank you goes to all our volunteers, past and present, whose dedication has kept the library thriving for the past 10 years. In particular, we would like to recognise Wendi Sutton for her unwavering commitment to managing and improving the library since the very beginning of our communityโ€‘managed journey. Additional thanks to Mark Sutton, Lisa (County Council), and Sarah and Beth (MPFT) for their invaluable support.

We were also delighted to welcome staff and pupils from St Mary and St Chad First School, who presented us with a wonderful commemorative journal. It was a thoughtful and creative gift that perfectly captured the spirit of the occasion.

๐ŸŽ‰ 10th Anniversary & Hot Weather Notice โ˜€๏ธ

Today weโ€™re celebrating our 10th Anniversary, from 10am โ€“ 1pm ๐Ÿ”Ÿ

However, weโ€™re very aware that โ€” unfortunately for the second time โ€” the celebration has coincided with hot weather.

If youโ€™re vulnerable to the heat, or feel your health could be at risk, please prioritise your wellbeing. Itโ€™s absolutely okay to stay home and keep safe.

If you do head out, remember to:

โ€ข Stay hydrated
โ€ข Stick to the shade
โ€ข Wear sunscreen

Aside from this, we hope todayโ€™s celebrations are fantastic and that everyone has a wonderful time together.
