We completely agree with Councillor Steven Bletsoe.

The transformation that BCBC needs is a change of administration.

An independent administration that is ready to lead in May 2027.

Cabinet will meet next week (Tuesday 23 June) to consider the councilโ€™s formal response to recommendations made as part of a recent Panel Performance Assessment.

The assessment described Bridgend County Borough Council as โ€œa good council with untapped potentialโ€ and recognised strengths including:

๐Ÿ›๏ธ Leadership
๐Ÿ’ท Financial sustainability
๐ŸŽ“ Education services
๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘ง Improvements in children's services
โ™ป๏ธ Achieving the highest recycling rates in Wales

The report highlights progress made against eight key recommendations designed to support continuous improvement, including:

๐ŸŒŸ Developing a long-term vision for Bridgend County Borough
๐Ÿ“š Strengthening leadership opportunities
๐Ÿ’ก Embracing innovation
๐Ÿ’ป Improving digital services
๐Ÿค Building on strong partnerships

The report will also outline how further improvements can help strengthen services, enhance efficiency and support the councilโ€™s ambitions for the future.

Independent Councillors working for their residents

Residents of Gerddi Quarella and Quarella Road.

Your Independent Councillors who cover Bridgend Central at BCBC and Morfa at Bridgend Town Council have had it confirmed that when the Health Board move from this site and into the new development at Sunnyside, that the property will be transferred to the ownership of Codi Group (formerly Linc Housing).

We have also had it confirmed that Codi Group intend to develop this into an affordable housing site.

This will now become a detailed application process that will include a lot of consultation with local residents.

Your Independent Councillors will work with all local residents to assist them throughout this process and support them every step of the way.

We will in the first instance try to arrange a public meeting to answer any questions you may have.

Please get in contact with us if you would like more information.
