Bridgend Town Council are delighted to be working with the Events Team at Bridgend County Borough Council and epm MARKETING to bring the amazing Dinomania show to the town centre.

Free to attend and no need to book, showtimes are 11am, 1pm and 3pm.

It was another fantastic day in Bridgend Town Centre yesterday for the Classic Car Show, organised by epm MARKETING, supported and funded by Bridgend Town Council.

There was a great atmosphere in the town with plenty of visitors as highlighted by The Mayor of Bridgend Town Cllr Michelle Blundell-Humphreys, Independent Councillor, Oldcastle Ward in her post below.

⭐ A proud day for Bridgend Town Council! ⭐

Yesterday, at the One Voice Wales - Un Llais Cymru Annual National Conference & Awards Ceremony, Bridgend Town Council was honoured to receive five national awards, together with a Highly Commended and two Commended certificates.

🏆 Best Tourism Initiative
🏆 Best Heritage & Culture Initiative
🏆 Best Use of Digital Resources
🏆 Best Local Large Town Council in Wales

⭐ Highly Commended – Cost of Living Crisis Initiative
⭐ Commended – Community Engagement Initiative
⭐ Commended – Youth Engagement Initiative

What makes this achievement significant is that every category was judged independently by different external judging panels and the Caerwyn Roberts Award for Best Local Large Town Council in Wales was chosen independently by a judging panel who considered the work of large Town Councils across Wales.

Many people aren’t aware of the role of a Town Council; for example, whilst services such as education, social services, highways, grass cutting, refuse collection etc. are the responsibility of Bridgend County Borough Council (BCBC), Bridgend Town Council’s remit is to focus on enhancing the quality of life for local people by delivering projects, events and services that directly benefit the residents living in our Morfa, Oldcastle and Newcastle wards.

These awards recognise many aspects of our work, from organising town centre events and preserving our local heritage, to supporting community groups, maintaining assets, providing arts, culture and wellbeing opportunities, and delivering local projects and services that enhance our town.

Whilst these awards are presented in the Council’s name, they are a celebration of teamwork. They recognise the outstanding dedication of our small team of Town Council staff as well as the support of Town Councillors, community groups, partners and members of the public who work with us to make a positive difference in Bridgend.
