As emergency services continue to respond to wildfires across South Wales, we are urging everyone to please follow advice issued by South Wales Fire & Rescue Service:
๐Ÿ‘ฎ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธReport any suspicious behaviour or deliberate fire starting to 101 or in an emergency 999.
๐ŸšซPlease refrain from using BBQs, fire pits or having bonfires.
โŒStay away from affected areas.
๐ŸชŸIn areas affected by smoke, please keep windows and doors shut.

โ€œIn recent days, Bridgend County Borough Council has received a number of enquiries about social media posts and correspondence issued by Councillor Owain Clatworthy, the elected member for the Pyle, Kenfig Hill and Cefn Cribwr ward.

โ€œSome of the correspondence that he has issued incorporates the councilโ€™s logo which has led to enquiries about whether he is writing on behalf of the local authority.

โ€œFor clarity, the correspondence has not been written using the councilโ€™s official letterhead, and the views that have been expressed are not the views of Bridgend County Borough Council or the three political groups that we lead.

โ€œWhile individual members are entitled to their own opinions, this should not be considered as representing the wider council.

โ€œMembers of our groups do not share or endorse the views expressed within the post and the correspondence issued by Councillor Clatworthy, and his views and opinions remain entirely his own.
