Wales has the highest prevalence & incidence of Epilepsy than the rest of the UK; 1 in 88 people in Wales live with the condition.

There are only 11 neurologists in Wales to support the 36,000 epilepsy patients!
Almost half have no access to specialist care or services, because neurologists and ENS' are so overrun.

Epilepsy kills, but people with epilepsy can live long and fulfilling lives if they are afforded access to equitable and timely care. For too long epilepsy care has not been a priority.

Thursday’s Llangynwyd Lower Community Council by-election marked the ward’s first in almost 20 years.
It's taken me a few days to process before being ready and able to share my thoughts.

A small group of locals and I decided it was time for residents to have a say and petitioned for the by-election.

Co-option can & does work well, but it also risks weakening trust, accountability, and opening the door to personal bias from those in the position to co-opt.
Sometimes communities need to push boundaries and challenge the status quo, or change won’t happen - and the latter is the position we find ourselves in within my community.

This time wasn’t my time, but I’m immensely proud.

Regardless of the intimidation I was subjected too, we stood up to the challenge, and we did so brilliantly 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿💚

Yesterday, we received a response from Cllr Neelo Farr in regards to the re-routing on the 71 bus.

We will be following up with the Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Economic Development and Housing to discuss which ward the meeting took place and why no further meetings with public members to discuss the proposed changes were made.

Additionally, we still await an explanation as to why elected council members were kept in the dark about these changes.
