Bridlington Zoo is an award-winning, family-owned business that has lots to offer for a fun-filled family day out. We have a great range of birds of prey, including hawks, falcons, and owls. We are absolutely delighted to announce that Bridlington Animal Park has been shortlisted as a finalist in the 2026 REYTA Awards! 🎉

And we’re incredibly proud to have been recognised in not just one, but THREE categories:

For a small, independent attraction like ours, recognition like this is very special. 🦁 Got Old Items You Don’t Need? Our Animals Might! 🐒💚

We’re looking for old, unwanted items from around your home that can be safely repurposed as enrichment for the animals at our zoo.

Please don’t go out and buy anything! 🙅‍♀️🛍️
Instead, we’re looking for things you already have lying around that you no longer need — giving them a second life while helping keep our animals mentally and physically stimulated. 🐾

Some of the things we may be able to use include:
🪵 Untreated branches and logs
📦 Cardboard boxes and tubes
🧺 Old baskets, crates and containers
🪢 Suitable old ropes
⚽ Hard-wearing balls and toys
🌿 Safe, natural materials
…and other clean, unwanted household items that could be turned into enrichment!

So before you throw something away, ask yourself: could our animals have some fun with this? 👀🐒

Need to complete work experience as part of your college or university course, we’d love to hear from you!

Before joining our team, all new work experience students are required to attend one of our induction days.

Friday 16th October
Saturday 17th October

🕘 Time: 9:00am – 4:00pm

During the induction you’ll meet the team, learn about health and safety, discover what your role will involve, and gain an insight into what it’s like to work at the zoo.

PUBLIC OTTER FEEDING IS HERE TO STAY! 🦦

We’re delighted to announce that, due to its incredible popularity, we’ve decided to continue our public otter feeding experience!

Come along and get up close with our incredibly friendly and curious otters. You can purchase a tub of specially prepared otter food for just £3, then join us at 12:30pm each day for the chance to feed them yourself.

It’s a fantastic experience for children and adults alike, and a wonderful opportunity to see these amazing animals up close while enjoying one of the highlights of their day! 🐟🦦

🦦 Get involved: Feed our friendly otters yourself!

Please remember that only a limited number of tubs are available each day, and they’ve been proving very popular. We recommend arriving early to get yours and avoid disappointment.

Ever wondered how zoo keepers keep animals active, stimulated and engaged at Bridlington Animal Park? Now’s your chance to find out!

Join us for a fascinating, hands-on afternoon learning all about animal enrichment alongside our experienced zoo keepers and discover why enrichment is such an important part of caring for animals.

Enrichment helps encourage natural behaviours, provides mental and physical stimulation, and gives animals opportunities to explore, investigate, problem-solve and interact with their environment.

Our zoo keepers regularly design and provide different types of enrichment tailored to the individual needs, behaviours and abilities of the animals in our care.

Now we’re giving you the opportunity to come behind the scenes and get involved!

🌿 During the workshop you will:
• Meet and work alongside our zoo keepers
• Learn what animal enrichment is and why it is important
• Discover the different types of enrichment used at the park
• Learn how enrichment encourages natural behaviours
• Find out how keepers plan enrichment for different species

Join us for a fascinating, hands-on afternoon learning basic veterinary skills alongside our experienced zoo keepers and discovering more about the important work involved in animal care.

Our zoo keepers play a vital role in monitoring the health and wellbeing of the animals in our care. From carrying out routine checks to recognising signs that an animal may need extra attention, their knowledge and observations are an essential part of keeping our animals healthy.

Ever wondered what we can discover from animal poo? Quite a lot, actually!

Join us at Bridlington Animal Park for a fascinating, hands-on afternoon exploring the science behind animal faecal sampling with our very own Zoo Biologist.

Faecal sampling is an important part of looking after the animals in our care. By examining samples under a microscope, our team can look for parasites and other clues that can help us monitor an animal’s health.

Now we’re giving you the opportunity to come behind the scenes and have a go yourself!

🔬 During the workshop you will:
• Meet and work alongside our Zoo Biologist
• Discover why and how we collect faecal samples
• Learn what our team looks for when examining samples
• Prepare and investigate samples
• Use our fabulous microscope to see what you can find
• Get a unique insight into some of the scientific work that happens behind the scenes at the animal park

You asked… and we listened! 👂🐾

We’re excited to be working on a brand-new series of fun, hands-on Behind-the-Scenes Workshops, giving you the chance to discover what really goes into caring for our animals. 🦝🦉🦘

We’ll initially be running a few special workshops for animal-mad children only — but don’t worry, we’re also putting together a programme of workshops for adult animal enthusiasts too!
