Update to A35 Road Closures - July 2026

As has already been widely advertised, Connect / Balfour Beatty are currently undertaking a significant renewals programme to ensure that the A30/35 DBFO meets the required standards when it is handed back to National Highways on 30 September 2026. The work is progressing well and from 1 July works will be starting between Axminster & Bridport. National Highways appreciate that this is an incredibly sensitive part of the network and have therefore detailed the works locations in more detail below to allow communities to make informed decisions.

For clarity the route needs to be closed between Axminster and Bridport so that we can direct strategic traffic on a suitable diversion route rather than pushing them through unsuitable local lanes.

Local access to properties will be maintained via escorts from the traffic management contractor - please therefore speak to the gatemen at either end of the closure if this is required.

It is hoped that this will be useful for understanding the works locations and will reduce the impact of the works. If you have any questions on the above please contact [email protected] who are undertaking the works.
