Metro Update: Testing is underway!
There’s exciting progress on the Wednesbury to Brierley Hill Metro extension, with the first section between Wednesbury and Dudley town centre now entering testing and commissioning.
Trams are already running along the newly laid line as the operator tests the route and checks the system.
And there’s plenty happening closer to Waterfront Dudley too. 👀
As Phase Two progresses towards Merry Hill and Brierley Hill, preparatory work will soon take place in Waterfront Dudley car park ahead of the track being laid, including relocating the existing turning area.
Once complete, the wider 11km extension will create a new connection through Wednesbury, Tipton, Dudley, The Waterfront, Merry Hill and Brierley Hill, helping to improve public transport links and make it easier to travel around the Black Country.
