๐Ÿ“ž The UKโ€™s Digital Phone Switchover is happening โ€” and itโ€™s important that everyone is prepared.

Traditional landlines are being moved from the old analogue network to a new digital service that uses broadband instead. While this upgrade will improve reliability and future-proof communications, it may affect vulnerable residents, alarm systems, and devices that rely on analogue phone lines.

If you or someone you know uses:
โœ… A telecare alarm
โœ… A pendant or fall monitor
โœ… A home security system
โœ… A landline without broadband
โ€ฆitโ€™s important to check with your provider before the switch takes place.

No one should be left disconnected. Please help spread awareness, especially to elderly relatives, neighbours, and community members who may not yet know about the change.

For more information, contact your phone provider or visit the official guidance online.

Please note that there will be weed-spraying taking place on the Scawby Road Playing Field on Monday, 8th June 2026. Please note that this is weather permitting and the date could potentially change as a result of unfavourable weather conditions but will most likely be in the first half of June. Please note that access to the field may be restricted following the weed-spraying. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Edit: We now have a new date. Monday 1st June, at 9am on site. Thank you in advance for all the volunteers.

Along with the local authority that manage the Pocket Park the Town Council are looking for volunteers to assist in the pulling of the himalayan balsam. This is an annual task and couldn't be done without the assistance of volunteers.
The towns handymen and the local authority repreesentatives will be on site at 9am on Monday 11th May and if required Wednesday 13th May.
If you can arrive armed with gloves and wellies that would be appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

๐ŸŒธ Community spirit is in full bloom in Broughton! ๐ŸŒธ

Last night, the amazing girls and leaders from 1st Broughton Brownies planted and filled 14 beautiful hanging baskets ready to brighten businesses and key locations around the town. Thank you Brownies!

The new baskets were funded through last yearโ€™s grant from North Lincolnshire Council, with the plants kindly funded by Broughton Town Council โ€” all brought together by the fantastic volunteers from Broughton in Bloom.

What a wonderful example of local organisations working together to make our community even more vibrant and welcoming. Thanks to the council staff for assisting to. ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ‘
