Brighton Seafront is for everyone - residents, visitors, and wildlife too 🌊

Our seafront byelaws are here to help keep people safe, protect our beaches and green spaces, and care for the incredible wildlife that calls this coastline home.

From dogs 🐾 and cycling 🚲 to BBQs 🔥, boating ⛵ and litter 🚯 - these guidelines help everyone enjoy the seafront responsibly while preserving it for future generations.

By following the byelaws, you’re helping to:
• Keep public spaces safe and accessible
• Protect local habitats and marine life
• Reduce fire risks and environmental damage
• Keep Brighton Seafront clean, welcoming, and enjoyable for all

Please take a moment to check the rules before you visit or head out.

Find full details on our website under “Byelaws”.
Together, we can all do our part to protect Brighton Seafront 💙

Yesterday our Seafront Patrol spotted something unusual floating out in the sea. They immediately contacted the Coastguard and described the location using local land marks.

The Coastguard were quick to task Shoreham Lifeboat crew who were able to get closer to the object, which turned out to be a tent.

If you ever see something in the water that doesn’t look right, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard☎️

Floating objects can sometimes signal someone in danger, create hazards for water users, or become dangerous debris.

Your quick actions could help save a life.

Please remember:

- Don’t enter the water yourself.
- Keep the object in sight and note its location. You can use land marks or beach ID codes from the local signs.
- Share clear details about what you can see.
- Always call 999 and ask for Coastguard.

A big thank you to everyone involved this morning for acting quickly and safely.

Sunny weekend at Brighton Beach? Stay safe while you enjoy it! 🌊

Bright days bring big crowds, and while the atmosphere at Brighton Beach is amazing, it’s important to keep safety in mind:

Stick with friends🏖️– It’s easy to get separated in busy areas, so agree on a meeting point just in case.

Be mindful your alcohol intake🍺 - Drinking in the sun hits harder than you think. Alcohol can dehydrate you, affect your judgment, and increase the risk of accidents. Know your limits.

Stay hydrated💧- Bring plenty of water and take breaks in the shade to avoid heat exhaustion.

Protect your skin🧴- Use sunscreen regularly, even if there’s a breeze.

Respect the space🚮 – Take your rubbish with you and look out for others around you and use the bins!

Look out for one another🚨 - If someone seems unwell or in trouble, don’t hesitate to get help.

Enjoy the sunshine, the sea, and the vibe, but make sure everyone gets home safely

After a busy weekend on our beautiful seafront, we sadly see a lot of rubbish left behind 🌊

If you’re enjoying the sunshine and fresh sea air, please help us keep Brighton beach clean for everyone. Use the bins provided or take your rubbish home with you.

Why not take a few extra minutes to do a mini beach clean before you leave? Every small action makes a big difference 💙

Let’s all do our bit to protect this special place.
Enjoy the lovely weather and have a great weekend!
