Brighton station is one of the busiest in the south of England. Trains are an integral part of our economy, and indeed the history of Brighton & Hove.

We're very proud that this PUBLIC service has been brought into public ownership. 🌹

A huge moment for Brighton & Hove Albion FC Women. 💙🤍

Cllr Bella Sankey joined BBC South East Today at the Amex to talk about Sunday’s Women’s FA Cup Final and what this means for our city.

This is bigger than one match.

It is about the girls across Brighton & Hove and Sussex who will watch the Seagulls walk out at Wembley and know that football is for them too.

From the pioneering women at Brighton’s General Post Office, who played the game despite the FA ban, to today’s Albion women reaching the very top level of the game, this city has a proud place in the history of women’s football.

Now Brighton are back in an FA Cup Final.

Come on you Seagulls. Bring on Sunday. 🏆

Are you watching the final?

GOOD LUCK TO THE ALBION!

Brighton & Hove Albion are playing in the Women's FA Cup final this weekend and we're asking the entire city to show their love for the Seagulls by displaying their Albion scarves and good luck messages in the windows of their homes and businesses đź’™

Councillor Bella Sankey, Leader of Brighton & Hove City Council, said: “This is a huge occasion for the city.

“The Albion’s commitment to women’s sport is fantastic. We’ve seen that through its ongoing investment in the women’s game, the work being done by its foundation to encourage more girls to get active and the ambitious plans for a purpose-built women’s stadium.

“I hope as many fans as possible can make it to Wembley to support the team and it would be brilliant to see residents and local businesses help turn the city blue and white ahead of the game.”
