Schools Mental Health Service Mountain Biking (offroad cycling + Forest School) RIDE & CONNECT Sessions Aug 26
The Schools Mental Health Service, in collaboration with an independent Forest School provider, will be hosting sessions throughout the summer, where a parent and young person can come and partake together in Off Road Mountain Bike Cycling and Forest School Activities to promote good emotional wellness and mental health, through CONNECTION and outdoors ACTIVITY. Young people can come on their own if booked by a parent / guardian or a parent / guardian may also come along😊
The young person needs to be 12 – 17 years and able to ride a bike.
An accompanying adult also needs to be able to ride a bike – IF attending
Sessions Run on a Wednesday and Friday throughout August
Sessions will be held at Stanmer Park (Starting and Ending @ Sussex University Falmer Sports Complex – Pavillion Road)
Session are 1pm until 4:30pm
All sessions, bikes and kit will be provided for FREE where needed !!
Starting from the Sussex University Sports Complex, we will introduce participants to core concepts of offroad cycling - before we ride off into the coolness of Stanmer Park Forest and then onwards to the Stanmer Organic Forest School site, where we will spend time together in nature, learning and connecting.

All participants need to be able to ride a bike but do not need to be super confident riders!, as the focus of these sessions is predominantly: connecting and exploring our surrounding together.
All participants will be expected to wear a helmet if they want to partake.

We hope that you will join us in exploring the trails and spaces of Stanmer Park and the surrounding woods. We expect that we will have safe and fun sessions where there will be a little something for every ability for both young person and adult alike and it's ALL FREE !!
What will you need?
A snack, a drink, a hat, sun cream and the intention to have some fun in the outdoors
You DO NOT NEED a bike or kit, we can provide this if needed?
You are welcome to bring your own bikes and kit, but we may reserve the need to ask you to use our bikes and kit to keep you safe.
