What if you're too busy?

One of the most common things we hear is "I'd love to foster, but I work."

Many foster carers balance fostering alongside employment. Every situation is different, but it's always worth having a conversation before ruling yourself out 🧡

What if one conversation changed a child's future?

You don't need to decide whether fostering is right for you today. Sometimes all it takes is a conversation 🧡 This weekend, why not spend five minutes finding out more.

What if your family could make a difference together?

Children of foster carers play a hugely important role in helping children feel welcomed, included and cared for 🧡

“I thought new children might teach my kids bad habits - but instead, it taught them empathy. My son comes home from school and checks if the foster children are okay. He plays with them, distracts them when they’re upset, and helps them feel welcome.”

Fostering can bring challenges, but it also brings incredible rewards:
âś… Children learn kindness and resilience
âś… Families grow closer
âś… Everyone gains new perspectives and friendships

With the right support fostering can enrich your whole family. Could fostering be part of your family’s story?

What if you've already got what it takes to foster? 🧡

Many people tell us they've thought about fostering but assumed they wouldn't be eligible. The truth is that foster carers come from all walks of life.

If you've ever wondered whether fostering could fit your life, we'd love to hear from you!

🧡 To all our children and young people who foster… THANK YOU! 🧡

This week, we’re celebrating the incredible children and young people who are part of fostering families across Brighton & Hove.

When a child joins a fostering family, it’s not just the foster carers who open their hearts and homes. Their own children share their space, their family time and their everyday lives, helping children in care feel welcome, safe and included.

As Cathy shares in this video, we are so grateful to all the children of our foster carers for the kindness, patience and understanding they show. We recognise that fostering can bring both wonderful moments and challenges for the whole family, and we want every child to know that they are valued, heard and appreciated 🧡

A huge thank you to Emmanuel for warmly welcoming us and giving Brighton and Hove Fostering the opportunity to speak to your congregation this morning about fostering and the difference it can make to a child’s life 🧡

Faith and fostering go hand in hand!

Could fostering be something you or someone in your community has considered? We’d love to hear from you!

✡️ Rosh Hashanah begins on 12 September 2026

As Jewish communities around the world celebrate Rosh Hashanah, we would like to extend our warm wishes to all Jewish children, young people, foster carers, families and community members in Brighton & Hove.

Known as the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah is a time for reflection, hope, new beginnings and spending time with loved ones 🧡

At Brighton & Hove Fostering Service, we celebrate the rich diversity of our community and recognise the importance of helping children and young people stay connected to their culture, faith, traditions and identity.

Shanah Tovah (Happy New Year) to all those celebrating 🍎

Think you can’t foster? Think again!

You don’t need:
❌ A big house
❌ To be part of a couple
❌ To fit a certain mold

You do need:
âś… A safe, clean space with a spare bedroom
âś… Kindness, patience & a willingness to learn

Single? Renting? Working? You can foster. What matters most is giving a child safety, love, and a place to belong.
