Abstract Impression by Helen Wrigglesworth.

Our collaboration with Dry Red Press continues!

We have added to our collection of artist-made cards and thought we’d take the opportunity to share Helen and Dry Red Press’ amazing work!

All cards can be browsed on our website https://www.artspacebrighton.org.uk/shop

And bought through Dry Red Press https://www.dryredpress.com/collections/shop-artspace-charity-cards
Who have an incredible and varied collection of cards available.

We are a volunteer and member led charity, meaning all proceeds from our collaboration go a long way.

We are enormously proud of the art created by our community and hope you enjoy Helen's art as much as we do.

We’ll be showcasing every card individually, so stay tuned for more.

Artspacers Go to The Royal Academy Summer Show

A lovely day out was had by all....

The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition continues one of Britain’s most distinctive annual art traditions. In total 1850 exhibits were on display bringing together painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking, film, architecture and other forms of contemporary practice. It’s an open submission show with established artists exhibiting alongside unknown artists, making everyone feel that they could potentially participate.

Clare felt that the range and scope of the works on display was "breathtaking" and was happy that artist members said they found inspiration from the art that would help them in their own practice.

Tamsin liked the bear and the girl painting/illustration. She also liked how they organised the first room by colours.

Karen said:
"The works I found inspiring were Jacqueline Weir's 'Beady Eye' for its simplicity in composition and energetic mark making that gave a sense of movement. I enjoyed seeing a number of Eileen Cooper's paintings and prints as I've loved her work since the 1980's. I also liked the quirkiness of Paula Reece's painting "The Importance of Being Idle". I enjoyed seeing so many different styles of artwork and different artists represented in one exhibition."

We’d like to thank the royal academy for the fantastic exhibition and our Emily, for organising this special experience.

Artspace Brighton At Worthing Museum and Art Gallery!

On June 12th we took several of our Artspace members on a trip to Worthing Museum and Art Gallery. This was the first time we had visited this great venue, both as a group and as individuals.
Two very unique and impressive art exhibitions were showing when we visited, 'Another Sussex' and 'Open 26'.

For more details on this please go to the news section of our website, for the full article and lots of great photos from the exhibitions, click here (or click the website link in our bio and go to news):

Here are quotes by our artists, detailing our experiences at Worthing Museum and Art Gallery:

"An interesting exhibition and great afternoon with other artspacers."

Karen enjoyed both art exhibitions at Worthing Museum and Art Gallery, and also really enjoyed the time spent with her fellow Artspace members:

"It was great to see both the Folklore exhibition and Open 26 exhibition in one space.

Both very inspiring with art in many different mediums.

Good to go with others from Artspace and socialise with them too"

Jaqui enjoyed all aspects of Worthing Museum and Art Gallery:

"I thought it might be a bit overwhelming, but I was pleasantly surprised at how intimate and cosy the museum was having not visited there before.

I found the museum's finds, relics and fashion through the ages very interesting.

The gallery exhibitions were wonderful and some installations encouraged you to take part.

The staff on reception were friendly and helpful.

A terrific calm day out with great people."

Thanks Worthing Museum and Art Gallery, for putting on two great exhibitions, and to your friendly helpful staff! https://wtm.uk/museum/

Artspace artists held a successful exhibition of their artworks in the Starling Studio windowon Havelock Road, Brighton earlier this year.

Fourteen of our artists chose to take part and exhibited a total 19 pieces of their fantastic art, covering a variety of styles, mediums and themes.

The exhibition was for the entire month of February 2026.

We are very proud of the hard work our members produced for this exhibition, and the way the pieces gelled and complimented each other in the window, just as our members have gelled and support each other.

We were pleased to collaborate with this popular studio for our exhibition, and are very appreciative of the opportunity. Thank you also to our lovely Clare who organised and helped curate the show.

Local people commented favourably about the quality and variety of the works displayed, and vibrancy and colour it provided to the area, especially in the gloomy February weather!

The diverse range of work included paintings, linocut prints, collages, stained glass art, spray can/stencil painting and pencil drawings. The variety highlights some of the range and talents of artists within our groups, and their own unique approaches as individuals... and just a small fraction of the great works they produce in our studio.

In addition to having the opportunity to exhibit our works, being at Starling studios allowed us to bring our group to people's attention in a location which is right at the heart of the famous Fiveways Artists Open House trail.

Thanks to everyone for participating, and we hope that we can collaborate with Starling Studio again in the future.

On Friday 8th May - 7 Artspace studio members ventured over to Chichester's to catch the William Nicholson exhibition as well as other key pieces from their permanant collection.

We also dropped in on to see John Piper's vibrant High Altar Tapestry.

A big thank you to Pallant House's Community Programme Team for their kind encouragement and hospitality!
