Here’s your chance to hear three local authors share their writing and experiences. Ali Bacon, Claire Jaggard and Hilary Smith have won competitions, awards and plaudits for their fiction. Come along and prepare to be amazed, moved and entertained by a medley of short stories, flash fiction and tantalising extracts from work in progress. The event starts at 7pm and the bar opens at 6.30pm

🌟 Join us on 16th November for an exclusive event with Martin Smith, a man whose life story is as compelling as the documentaries he’s created. 📚 At age 15, Martin left school with no qualifications, but by 30, he was making groundbreaking documentaries like The World at War, Vietnam: A Television History, and Cold War. His incredible journey from petty criminal to prestigious filmmaker and exhibition director for Washington’s Holocaust Memorial Museum is nothing short of inspirational.

🦠 During the pandemic, Martin turned to his love of history, writing and recording talks that became his insightful book: Matters of Life and Death: Living with History in a Pandemic.
