Sikh Resource and Community Development Centre

Sikh Resource and Community Development Centre The Sikh Resource and Community Development Centre (SRCDC) has been delivering services to the Sikhs and BME communities for more than 25 years.

The charity aims to raise quality of life of disadvantaged, deprived & marginalized communities through health programs, day care for elders, supplementary schooling for young people who are in risk of exclusion and empowering women. The Sikh Resource Centre, formerly known as Bristol Sikh Cultural Centre, was established in 1983 due to community demand for a focal point for activities, informatio

n and advice. The Centre provides information about the Sikh religion, promotes religious tolerance and the teachings of Sikhism. Since its establishment it has not only been catering for the interests of the Sikh Community, it has also been keenly addressing the needs of other local ethnic communities. The Centre also takes an active part into the initiatives being developed by the statutory and voluntary organizations in order to address the needs of the ethnic communities. SRCDC is aware of the gaps in mainstream provisions and lack of confidence of BME community members for not going out to use places, thus SRCDC is acting as a bridge to resolve the problem.
