BZ to you all amazing achievements
The RN Cadet Naval Aviation Team concluded a dynamic week at RNAS Yeovilton in August as they concluded the 2026 Naval Wings Program with their Gold Wings flying course. Six outstanding cadets, selected from a competitive pool of over 250 at the start of the year represented the Sea Cadets and Combined Cadet Force progressed through aptitude assessments and practical flying grading to qualify.
Showcasing their skills during extended flights in the Grob Tutor 115, cadets were supported by the pilot instructing team from 727 Naval Air Squadron led by their Commanding Officer, Lt Cdr Chris Rebbeck RN. Utilising the training and knowledge delivered by a dedicated team of volunteer Cadet Force instructors, the next generation of naval aviators took on challenging flight operations, air navigation and aerobatic manoeuvrers, to reinforce their newly acquired skills whilst fostering some great camaraderie and teamwork with their peers.
Their week culminated in a visit from Captain Terry Tyack Royal Navy (Deputy Commander Royal Navy Youth and Cadets) who spoke with cadets and staff before presenting the candidates with their Gold Wings. VIP was impressed by the enthusiasm and effort displayed by all, celebrating their hard work and dedication throughout the program.
