If you are able to you might want to re-plan some of your journeys from Monday 21st September.

🚦 We’re starting work on Monday 21 Sept to replace the aging traffic lights at Netham Road’s junction with Feeder Road that travels over Netham Lock near Redfield.

This essential maintenance work will take around 10 to 12 weeks.

There will be temporary traffic lights and lane closures in place, so motorists may want to consider alternative routes, especially at busy times.

Thank you for bearing with us while we work to maintain Bristol’s traffic signal infrastructure.

In the heart of Speedwell, Meadow Vale Community Association is helping people connect and support one another.

Chairman Jim Currie describes the centre as an "oasis in a desert", a welcoming community space in an area where many local facilities have closed over the years.

"We provide a range of activities and facilities which improve quality of life and build community spirit. People know we listen, we care, and they are always made so welcome. We live up to our promise to put the heart into Speedwell."

Over the past year, the centre's community café has become a hub for local residents, bringing people together for free refreshments, guest talks, advice services and health checks. Its success has led to the launch of a new community lunch club to help tackle loneliness and isolation.

From judo and dance classes to community events, celebrations and family activities, Meadow Vale welcomes people of all ages and backgrounds. The centre has grown from a small volunteer-led organisation into a thriving community hub serving the neighbourhood.
