Another day out and about for our community caretaker, firstly we cut the overgrowth along the lane next to Mangotsfield primary school and then we cut back some overgrowth near the kissing gates at Pomphrey hill which was making it hard for pedestrians to see oncoming traffic and finally we tidied up the lane from Badminton Rd through to Leap valley.

Ensuring that pedestrians can safely walk through areas within our parish is a key reason why our Community Caretaker plays such an important role. This morning, he responded promptly to a request from a member of the public to cut back overgrown vegetation in the lane to the rear of Elmleigh Avenue.

Another busy day for our community caretaker completing four jobs, two of which were reported by members of the public. Starting off at the footpath which runs along the back of the Sainsburys petrol station down to the ring road we cut down brambles and branches that were making the path difficult to get through, next we cut a overgrown hedge at Westons Hill Drive and cleared the path next to Blackhorse primary school which had some low hanging branches. Last but not least we cleared the path from Cynder Way through to Westons Brake.

Today we paid a visit to the footpath from Cossham St through to Mangotsfield school and gave it a tidy up, cutting back overgrowth and intruding bramble and stingers. We then gave the footpath at Pinkers Mead a spring clean and removed any debris.

Just to let everyone know that the tree that came down in Emersons Green park has been sorted out by South Gloucestershire council.

Did you know that when stinging nettles are dried or cooked they are edible and contain iron, calcium, magnesium and potassium and also vitamins A,C and K. They also give a nasty irritating rash when exposed to the skin.

So today we cleared them from the lane running along the back of Mangotsfield Primary school so that parents and children and everyone can access the lane sting free. Mangotsfield Primary PTA
