Hi everyone โค๏ธ
As many of you know Mike well, and so many of you have been asking how he is doing, we wanted to share a little update about his health and what we've been going through recently.
Unfortunately, Mike has been diagnosed with salivary gland cancer, which has already spread to the lymph nodes in his neck.
As if that wasn't enough, a few weeks ago he was also hospitalised with a serious pulmonary embolism, with two large blood clots in his lungs and several smaller ones.
It's been an incredibly difficult and emotional time for us as a family, filled with hospital appointments, scans, difficult conversations and so much uncertainty.
Following his PET scan and discussions with the specialist cancer team, Mike is now scheduled for major surgery on Thursday, 22nd October. The surgeons are planning to remove his entire left parotid salivary gland and affected lymph nodes from his neck.
We know this is just the beginning of a long journey, and we won't know the full picture or whether further treatment will be needed until after the operation.
For those of you who know Mike personally, you'll know what a wonderful, kind-hearted and strong person he is. โค๏ธ
We're doing our very best to stay strong, positive and hopeful, taking everything one day at a time.
We also want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has been checking in, asking about Mike, offering help, sending lovely messages or simply being there for us. Your kindness and support mean more to us than words can ever express.
We may not always manage to reply to everyone individually, but please know that every message, every kind word and every thought means so much to our family. โค๏ธ
Please keep Mike in your thoughts and prayers as he prepares for his operation next Thursday. โค๏ธ๐
We're hoping with all our hearts that everything goes well and that brighter, happier days are waiting for us on the other side of this difficult journey.
With love and gratitude,
Anna, Mike.
P.s.
This is my last floral work this year. Thank you .
