It is with sadness that 266 (GVA) Bty announces the death of an ex-member of the Bty, Gnr Tim Mugford, who passed away on 10 June at the age of 32.

Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, a small service was held on 26 June. However, his family are hoping that his ashes can be interned in St Michaels Church, Stoke Gifford. If you served alongside Gnr Mugford, his family would be honoured to see you attend the interment service once the restrictions have been lifted.

Welcome to the regiment LBdr Jones! LBdr Jones is an ex-RTR regular soldier and was attested this morning by Capt Fairhall who was an ex regular Fusilier himself.

You can rejoin as long as you have:
Been trained and completed service in last 6 years.
Medical discharge category of MFD and MLD acceptable.
Between 18 years - 51 years 364 days (56 years and 364 days for ex officers and some specialist

Yesterday, members of 104 Regt 266 Bty, 289 troop carried out some Fast Roping training at HMS Raleigh. This training is in preparation for trying it out of a Merlin helicopter in May on Ten Tors.
This is Gnr McDonald conquering his fear of heights....

Over the weekend our Battery exercised the right to freedom of the city by parading our Colours; The Guns, through Bristol to celebrate Armed Forces Day.

The weather held strongly for us and the rest of the day saw 266 Battery RA open their gates to the public to various stands and shows from all parts of the Armed Forces.
