Last year, the wooden motor cruiser 'Morwen' was sold by the Yard to help us raise a significant amount of funds for the rebuild of the workshops. You can see Win, our Site and Maintenance Coordinator, on board celebrating the successful sale.

Recently, we were sent some amazing pictures from her buyer. She is enjoying her new home near the Norfolk Broads along with a group of wooden boat enthusiasts. It is great to see her doing well!

The Yard is still in awe of the amazing weekend we had during the Bristol Sea Shanty Shout!

Dozens of shanty singers performed to thousands of visitors, and over £5,000 was raised for a range of charities across the harbourside.

Thanks to you and your generous donations, the Somerset Prostate Support Association will be able to host a prostate cancer awareness and testing event in Bristol early next year. Over 250 men will be able to have a free cancer check, which can lead to an early diagnosis.

Phil Gibson of High and Dry adds: “It is pretty safe to say that the Shanty Shout will save lives. And we did that while about 2200 people - visitors and performers- had a great time. I call that a result!”

We can’t wait to do it all over again!

Our Donate a Slate campaign has raised £2350 - that is around 5 slates a day since we started our campaign back in August.

There has been so much demand from people wanting to visit the boatyard and sign a slate that we have decided to extend the deadline to October 31st! You now have a whole extra month to make your mark at Underfall Yard and be a permanent part of our history for only £10.

Last week we hosted the retirement party for Pete, the (now former) Harbour Operations Manager. He worked for Bristol Harbour for over 30 years, and now it is time for a well-earned break.

Friends, family, and past and present workers at the Yard joined us for one last hurrah, and we were very happy to receive lots of compliments on the food and drink served throughout the evening.

Today marks World Maritime Day, and Bristol's maritime culture would look entirely different without Underfall Yard.

Our site was imperative to the creation of the Floating Harbour in 1809, and for over two hundred years the machinery and maintenance facilities have been used to make sure the harbour continues to be one of Bristol's most famous landmarks.

We are so proud to have a range of boatbuilders and maritime workers on site, and we cannot wait to bring more community-focused events to the Yard in 2027 after the rebuild is completed.

Unlike some other local establishment, no AI art will be used on our new workshops.

We had some local artists visit the Yard during the Sea Shanty Shout, and they have done some great designs on our slates that will be going on the roof of our newly established workshops.

Our Donate a Slate fundraising campaign is scheduled to close on the 30th September, so make sure you visit our site soon to sign your slate - especially if you have already donated online!
