⚽🐟 FREE SATURDAY MORNING FOOTBALL IS COMING TO BRIXHAM! 🐟⚽

We’re delighted to be launching our new FREE weekly Saturday Morning Football Sessions from Saturday 5th September at Brixham AFC.

📅 Starting on Saturday 5th September
⏰ 9:00am – 10:00am every Saturday
📍 Pump Technology Stadium, Wall Park
👦👧 Boys & Girls – Reception to Year 6
⚽ All abilities welcome
💷 Completely FREE!

These sessions are all about giving local children the opportunity to play football, make friends, improve their skills and most importantly have fun in a friendly and welcoming environment.

☕ Parents & guardians are welcome to stay and enjoy a cuppa while the children play, or children can be dropped off and collected after the session.

🛡️ Shin pads are required and children should bring a named drinks bottle.

⚠️Essential conservation works planned at Brixham Battery Gardens from 9 September

To help preserve this much-loved part of Brixham, essential conservation and maintenance works will be taking place at Battery Gardens from 9 September.

While the work is carried out, some temporary footpath closures will be in place around the archway and garden walls.

Find out more in the post below about these important improvements, supported by Torbay Council, which will help safeguard one of Brixham's most historic and beautiful spaces.

Essential conservation works to repair the historic stone arch and adjacent walls at Brixham Battery Gardens are expected to begin on Wednesday 9 September.

Brixham Battery Gardens is a Scheduled Monument and is known as the ‘World War II Emergency Coastal Battery and remains of a Victorian practice battery, at Battery Gardens’.

A specialist stonemason will be undertaking the repairs, using locally sourced stone and traditional conservation techniques, and they will take approximately three weeks to complete.

The work to help preserve the important heritage asset, has been approved in consultation with Historic England. The project has been funded by the council and supported by both SWISCo and the Brixham Battery Garden and Museum volunteers.

Footpath closures will be in place around the arch and walls to enable the work to take place safely. Visitors will still be able to access other paths around the site and should use one of the alternative routes through the gardens while work is underway.

Bank Holiday Weekend is here! 🌦️

Just a reminder that the Brixham Town Council office will be closed on Monday and will reopen as normal on Tuesday at 9am.

🐾 Happy National Dog Day, Brixham! 🐾

Today is all about celebrating our four-legged friends — and we know there are plenty of dogs who absolutely love exploring Brixham! 🌊🐶

From coastal walks and countryside trails to sniffing out their favourite spots around town, where does your dog love to explore in Brixham? 📸

And while you’re out enjoying those walks, a couple of friendly reminders:

🏖️ Please remember that seasonal dog restrictions are currently in place on some of our beaches. Always check the signs at your chosen beach before heading onto the sand with your dog.

💩 Please pick up after your dog and make sure those poo bags go in a bin. Keeping our streets, parks, paths and coastline clean makes a difference to everyone who enjoys Brixham.

So, whether your dog is a beach explorer, a cliff-top walker, a harbour wanderer or simply loves a good sniff around town… let’s see those Brixham dogs! 🐕❤️
