🌱 Brixham Town Council Maintenance Team 🌱

We’re always working hard to keep Brixham clean, safe and looking its best! 💚

Every week, our maintenance team are out clearing overgrown pathways, maintaining public spaces, supporting allotments, looking after floral displays, maintaining noticeboards and carrying out countless smaller maintenance jobs that make a big difference.

Recently, the pathways and alleys near Metheral Avenue got a good trim and tidy from the team! 🌿✂️

With autumn pretty much here, the team will be turning their attention to more seasonal tasks, including clearing fallen leaves, trimming back vegetation, removal of floral displays and keeping pathways and public spaces tidy as the seasons change.

A big thank you to our hardworking maintenance team for everything they do to care for our town. 👏

The Mayor of Brixham Town Council, Cllr Clive Nicholls along with Cllr David Madgwick (Deputy Mayor), Cllr Darryl Sparkes and the Town Clerk were delighted to tour the St Kilda redevelopment site this week and see the progress being made.

The project will provide 23 high-quality social rented homes for residents aged 55 and over and is now nearing completion. It was encouraging to see this much-anticipated development taking shape and the benefits it will bring to local people.

Who becomes a councillor? Not always who you might think!

There isn't a "typical" Town Councillor.

People from all walks of life can bring valuable experience, ideas and perspectives to the role. Our current Councillors include local business owners, Civil Servants, planning and legal specialists, engineers, and arboriculture professionals, to name just a few.

You don't need formal qualifications or previous experience to get involved.

What matters is being community-minded, willing to be active and engaged with the community and keen to play a part in shaping the future of Brixham.

With the next full Town Council elections taking place in May 2027, there's plenty of time to find out more about the role and consider whether standing could be right for you.
