Snowshill Manor and Garden NT

Snowshill Manor and Garden NT Snowshill is the unconventional home of the eccentric Charles Wade, who delighted in creating a stage for his collection. It helps us to learn and grow.

Welcome to the official page for Snowshill Manor and Garden, home to the eclectic collection of Charles Paget Wade, cared for by the National Trust.

What a difference a month makes!

Our wildflower orchard is flourishing in the May sunshine and is currently awash with Cow Parsley & Red Campion.

A lot of work goes into creating a wildflower orchard and this project has taken Head Gardener Vicky & Assistant Gardener James, over a decade of encouragement and management. The Ox Eye Daisies have just started to flower along with Orchids which will be closely followed by Cranesbill. Then towards the end of June we'll start to see Knapweed and Field Scabious.

Swipe to see the meadow at the beginning of May and stay tuned to see how the meadow progresses throughout the year

Our volunteer roamer team (aka our hero's) have been busy making some essential improvements to the path leading into the orchard

With the new buggy taking visitors to and from the Manor and café, the team have expanded the path to allow for a bigger turning point, making a smoother drive the visitors and volunteers.

Thank you team!

Nesting bird season is here and as always, we kindly ask for all dog owners to keep the furry family members on a short lead when walking in the garden and on the wider estate 🐾

While we love having dogs at Snowshill, it's important to protect the nesting birds and surrounding wildlife, especially through this critical season 🪺

Thank you!

The productive garden is bursting with fresh new growth and colourful blooms both in the borders and raised beds - keeping the bees (and us!) very happy 🐝🌸

This week, our busy garden team planted spinach, broad beans and runner beans into the raised beds.
