Discover the joy of fly-fishing 🎣

Join us at the picturesque Roadford Lake on Sunday 21 June and learn the art of fly-fishing with help from our local and experienced guides and anglers. Book a FREE ‘Have a Go Session’ with local and experienced guides.

Date and Time: Sunday 21 June, open from 9:00am to 3pm (tuition sessions bookable from 9:00am to 2:00pm)

Take part in our next Roadford Nature Reserve Volunteer Day 🌳

Join us on Thursday 16 July for an engaging and impactful day helping to maintain the beautiful grounds of Roadford Nature Reserve.

This day is dedicated to removing tree guards from trees in the reserve, ensuring the natural environment continues to thrive.

🕙Times: 10am to 4pm (end time may vary slightly)
📍Location: The meeting point for the day will be at W3W//:balance.shredding.career - the layby by the bridge at the Devon Birds Birdhide.

What Will You Be Doing?
As part of the volunteer activity for the day, a team effort will focus on removing old tree guards from the trees in the nature reserve. Not only does this help improve the environment for the trees and wildlife, but it's also a fantastic opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals who care for nature and conservation.

South West Lakes Trust is welcoming stallholders to join us for our Summer Fair on Sunday 5 July 2026.

This is the perfect opportunity to show off your wares in the stunning scenery that is Roadford Lake!

We’re looking for:

👩‍🎨 Crafters & Artists - The perfect spot to showcase and sell your unique, handmade creations.

🌷 Nature & Eco-Groups - Represent your charity or green business in a beautiful lakeside setting.

🛶 Outdoor Retailers - Connect with our community of walkers, anglers, watersports fans and adventurers.

🍯 Artisan food makers - We welcome independent local food & drink producers showcasing the best in local produce.

🐶 Pet Businesses & Animal Charities - Our event is dog friendly with guided walks available on the day.

Just £15 for the day!

Celebrate nature and biodiversity by participating in the Roadford Lake Bioblitz, happening during the Big Green Week! 🐛

Running on Wednesday, 10 June 2026 from 9.45am (meeting at Roadford Lake Cafe) to 3.00pm.

This free event is perfect for families, nature enthusiasts or anyone curious about local wildlife. 🦋

🔎 What's Happening?
During this fun and educational event, we’ll be identifying and recording as many plant, animal and fungi species as possible within a designated area. It's a great opportunity to learn about biodiversity while contributing valuable data that helps protect local ecosystems.

🌍 What is the Big Green Week?
Running from 6th to 14th June 2026, Big Green Week is a nationwide celebration of community action to tackle climate change and protect nature. Get involved and help fill the week with green activities!

In June our Activity Centre is open every week, Wednesday to Monday. We are closed on Tuesdays but open every other day of the week!

Whether you're joining us for the day or staying a little longer, there is a wide range of activities for all ages at the lake, including kayaking, canoeing and paddleboarding.

Make the most of the sun and hire our equipment or launch your own. 🛶☀

📣 Join our team!

We're recruiting a Chief Instructor to join the team at Roadford Lake. Take a leading role in delivering our water and land-based recreation activities: teach sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and canoeing; lead and supervise other members of staff in different tasks such as safety cover; and help look after our beautiful campsite.

This is a permanent role, 40 hours per week.
