⛔️ M5 NORTH AT J1 | INCIDENT | ROAD CLOSED.

The M5 North is CLOSED within J1 due to an ongoing police incident.

Traffic is currently being diverted up and over via the exit and entry slips.

There's currently delays of 25 minutes and congestion of 3 miles minutes on the approach.

Please allow extra time or consider an alternative route if heading this way

Emergency services are dealing with a collision on the A38 Birmingham Road between M42 J1 and Barley Mow Lane.

Traffic is very heavy on the approach as a result.

Please allow extra time.

🚧 TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE – FOX LANE, BROMSGROVE 🚧

Please be aware that part of Fox Lane, Bromsgrove, will be temporarily closed from its junction with Rock Hill to its junction with Breakback Road.

📅 Closure begins: Saturday 3 October 2026
⏱️ Expected duration: Approximately two days
🛠️ Reason: Utility works by Severn Trent Water

A signed diversion will operate via:

➡️ Rock Hill
➡️ Worcester Road
➡️ Hanover Street
➡️ Kidderminster Road
➡️ Whitford Road

The same route will apply in reverse.

Access to properties and land along the affected section will be maintained where there is no other means of access.

Please plan ahead, allow additional time for your journey and follow the diversion signs while the work is taking place.

🟥 UPDATE 2:15pm | Traffic has been released but lanes three and four remain closed past the scene.

🟥 M5 SOUTH AT J4A | TRAFFIC STOPPED.

Traffic has been stopped on the M5 south at J4A due to a collision.

Emergency services are in attendance and traffic is building on the approach.

This is also affecting the westbound carriageway of the M42 approaching the M5 and is likely to lead to heavier traffic on the A38

Reports of a large tree branch partially blocking Stoke Road between Liberty Leisure and the M5 junction.

This is heading towards the M5 from Stoke Prior.

Please take care if heading this way.

⚠️ Traffic signal issues on the A38 between Puddlewharf RAB and Chichester Caravans continue to be reported, particularly heading northbound towards Bromsgrove.

Observations seem to point to the MVD not picking up vehicles heading northbound, therefore not creating a demand.

This has been reported to the TM company.

Long delays on the approach - please avoid if you can.

⛔️ FLOOD UPDATES | ROAD CLOSURES.

🟩 A38 NOW OPEN.

⛔️ The A38 remains CLOSED in both directions between the KFC traffic lights and Morrisons Roundabout due to flooding and a displaced manhole cover.

⛔️ Perryfields Road is also CLOSED between Kidderminster Road and the Oldfield Road Roundabout due to flooding.

Before the roads can be safely reopened, the water needs to recede and cleansing will need to take place to remove the silt and debris from the road - because of this, an estimated time for the reopening can't be provided for now.

Please plan ahead and allow extra time.

🚨 PERRYFIELDS ROAD – NOW CLOSED 🚨

Following the severe flooding this evening, Highways have now closed Perryfields Road to traffic.

⛔ The road will remain closed until the water has cleared and it is safe to reopen.

⚠️ Please respect the closure, do not attempt to drive through the floodwater and use an alternative route.

A big thank you to the Highways team for responding tonight and getting the closure in place to keep residents and motorists safe.

📢 I’ll continue to keep residents updated.

🟥 A38 WORCESTER ROAD | ISSUES REPORTED.

Multiple reports of the temporary traffic lights on the A38 between Puddlewharf Roundabout and Chichester Caravans not working properly.

Some reports suggest that one phase is off and one is stuck on red. Others suggest that the lights are changing to green for a second before going back to red again.

Long delays have been reported - please allow extra time.
