Established 25 years ago, Belbroughton Nursery is an Ofsted registered, independent charity, committed to providing the very best care and education to nursery-aged children (2 1/2-school age). Our team are highly qualified and experienced professionals. All key staff members have been with us for many years and are all qualified from NVQ Level 3 to NVQ Level 5. We’re based in Belbroughton, a be

autiful village in the heart of the North Worcestershire countryside; just a few minutes drive from Stourbridge, Kidderminster and Bromsgrove, as well as the M5 and M42 motorway networks. We adjoin Belbroughton C. Primary School; offering children the security of our dedicated nursery facilities, while also being part of this vibrant village school community. Outdoor space is plentiful and includes unlimited access to our secluded nursery garden, guided play sessions in the School’s extensive playing fields, woods and pet area, as well as occasional trips to the village playground, just a short footpath walk away. We take pride in offering a warm and friendly childcare service to children… and parents! We know how difficult it can be for you and your child to be apart, so we’ll do all we can to reassure you both. We’ll partner with you to tailor your child’s nursery experience to their needs an interests. We also understand how quickly time flies at this age; so you don’t want to miss a thing. So we’ll let you know all about your child’s highs and lows, their educational journey and their milestones, their new discoveries and their emerging skills. We can’t stop you from missing your child but we can try to ensure that you don’t miss out on their day.

We have absolutely loved having caterpillars again this year from 🐛
Each day the children had been so fascinated to see the changes the caterpillars had made, before in their eyes, “magically” transforming to butterflies 🦋

Too much screen time is quietly changing childhood.

Children are sleeping less, struggling more emotionally, losing interest in offline play and finding it harder to focus, communicate and cope with boredom.

Many families now spend more time looking at screens than looking at each other.

And the hardest part?
A lot of this has become completely normal.

Children are getting phones younger. Endless scrolling starts earlier. Gaming and YouTube battles are exhausting parents. Family meals are interrupted by notifications. Bedtimes are delayed by screens.

This is not about blaming parents or banning technology. Screens are part of modern life. But children still need conversation, movement, sleep, outdoor play, attention and real connection to develop in a healthy way.

Sometimes the biggest difference comes from the smallest changes - putting phones away during meals, creating screen-free routines, protecting sleep and making more time for real-world connection.

Our new theme this next term is growing and planting, linking our theme to the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar 🐛
We have been talking about the changes in seasons too, noticing the visible changes we see outside such as flowers and trees growing, and noticing the baby animals being born in the fields.

We are beginning to explore how things grow and what they need to help them. We are going to be planting strawberries and tomatoes to watch what happens and how they grow. 🍅 🍓

Soon we will be ordering our very own caterpillars from Insect Lore where we can watch our very own caterpillars grow into beautiful butterflies 🦋
