❌ Don't park vehicles on dry grass. Hot exhausts and catalytic converters can start fires.
❌ Don't burn garden waste.
❌ Don't use machinery that creates sparks near dry grass, crops or vegetation.
❌ Don't continue working if equipment is overheating.
❌ Don't ignore damaged exhausts, bearings or brakes that could generate heat or sparks.
❌ Don't let cut grass, straw or debris build up around engines and moving parts.
❌ Don't refuel machinery while it's hot or running.
❌ Don't leave machinery unattended while operating.

Bromyard and Winslow Town Council is seeking to recruit a Properties and Assets Officer to join our team.

Post: Properties & Assets Officer

Hours: 30 hours per week

Salary: SCP 21-26 (Full Time Equivalent Salary Range £32,115 to £36,124)

Responsible to: Town Clerk

About the Role

Bromyard & Winslow Town Council is seeking an enthusiastic and organised Properties & Assets Officer to support the management of the Council's buildings, open spaces, cemetery and other physical assets.

The successful applicant will coordinate planned maintenance programmes, oversee contractors and property-related projects, administer the Council's cemetery service, ensure compliance with relevant health and safety requirements, and provide administrative and professional support to the Properties & Assets Committee, including the preparation of agendas, reports and minutes and attendance at evening meetings.

Applicants should have experience in property, facilities or asset management together with excellent organisational, communication and IT skills. Experience of local government administration, committee servicing or cemetery administration would be advantageous but is not essential.

The successful applicant will be expected to work flexibly, including attendance at evening committee meetings as required.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and organised individual to help manage and maintain the Council’s properties and assets, ensuring they are well cared for and effectively managed for the benefit of the community.

Food waste collections are coming to Herefordshire
Following the meeting held on the 30 July, Cabinet has approved plans for a new countywide weekly food waste collection service, due to start in 2027
The new service will make it easier for residents to recycle food waste at home and is expected to divert around 6,500 tonnes of food waste from general waste each year
