Brundall Parish Council will use Facebook to publicise local events, share important information with the community and to listen to concerns. Depending on the nature of the question or comment, there may not be a response until it has been discussed by the Parish Council and the moderators will discuss it becoming an agenda item with the Clerk and Chairman. Whilst it is important to let people ha

ve their say, if any posts do not comply with the 'Communication Rules and Expectations' section the moderators will ask the individual to remove the post or remove the post themselves. If necessary abusive individuals will be blocked from further use of the Council's page. Brundall Parish Council reserves the right to remove any content or posts that do not meet the expectations outlined above. We may not reply to every comment or post published if we are experiencing a particularly heavy workload. Communication Rules and Expectations

Please Help Keep Brundall Tidy: Dispose of Dog Waste Responsibly 💩

Brundall Parish Council has received many comments recently about an increase in dog waste on pavements and footpaths in the village. We recently installed some new dog bins in key areas identified in the village.

In 2022, Broadland District Council implemented a Public Spaces Order across Broadland that requires dog owners to pick up and dispose of their dog's waste in a suitable waste receptacle (dog or litter bin).

It applies to all public and private open land to which the public has access, with or without payment, including all public highways (verges, footways, and footpaths), all public parks, sports grounds, playing fields and play areas.

Failure to pick up and dispose of the dog waste in an appropriate place can leave the person responsible for the dog at the time liable to a fixed penalty fine of up to £1000. Ignorance of your dog's defecation, or not having a poo bag, is not considered a suitable defence.

Brundall Parish Council has contacted the relevant authorities to request a visit to the village to spot-check and, if necessary, enforce this order.

Clearing up after your dog makes all public spaces cleaner and healthier for everyone.

Yare Valley Churches are holding a Family Fun session in Brundall Churchyard on Saturday 30th May between 2 and 3.30pm.

There will be games, craft and other activities, and refreshments.

Everyone is welcome.

At the April meeting of Brundall Parish Council, councillors approved a £200 grant for Tom Adams.

Tom is a volunteer who gives up his time to improve Brundall Station as a station adopter. Station adopters are volunteers who "adopt" their local, often unstaffed, train stations to keep them clean, welcoming, and safe. They are part of a community rail movement, enhancing stations through gardening, art, and reporting issues, which fosters a positive, community-led environment for passengers

Tom is working hard to improve the biodiversity and visual appeal at the station. He has already planted bulbs and this grant will enable him to supplement these with perennials and to develop a wildlife area.

The Parish Council is pleased to support this excellent cause.

The Parish Council has received notification that the footpath from Links Avenue to Golf Links Road will be closed between Monday 25th May and Friday 29th May for water main diversion works by Hopkins Homes.

A diversion route via The Street will be in force.

Brundall Parish Council are delighted to announce the selection of Groundwork East to design the Brundall Village Park.

After a robust Request for Proposal (RFP) process under the advice and guidance of Broadland District Council, the council selected Groundwork East from a short list of 4 respondents.

Groundwork East will commence the design work with the council, which will bring the 11 hectares to life and create a design for a vibrant open space for residents. The Parish Council will consult with residents as part of the design process and liaise with Brundall Memorial Hall to maximise the impact of the Village Park.

The design of the park will be funded through Section 106 contributions from the developer, as part of the agreement made with Broadland District Council when the Planning Inspectorate granted permission.

We would like to thank all of organisations that submitted proposals as part of this process.

The results from the SAM2 data from Postwick Lane are in!

This traffic update ran from 12/03/2026 to 07/04/2026.

Here's a quick breakdown of the key data:

📍 Postwick Lane saw 95073 vehicles recorded (in one direction only).
⚠️ Highest Speed: 55mph
🚙 Average Speed: 26mph
🎦 Percentage of vehicles recorded travelling 35mph or above: 2.46%
🕚 Peak Time (AM): 11:00
🕓 Peak Time (PM): 16:00
🚗 Average Speed for drivers above 30mph+ in the time period: 33.5mph
❗ Vehicles travelling above 60mph: 0

Compared to previous data, these figures showed a large increase in traffic, this is likely due to road closures. The Average speed was consistent with previous readings, while the percentage of vehicles travelling over 35mph dropped.

The SAM2 devices are owned and managed by the Parish Council. They can only be placed in locations approved by Norfolk Highways. The data is regularly reported to the Parish Council and forwarded on to the Police for attention regarding excessive speeding through the village.

In addition to the SAM2 devices, the Community Speedwatch Team also monitors the speed of traffic through the village and are currently looking for more volunteers; if you can help, please contact us.

At the April meeting of Brundall Parish Council, councillors approved a £300 grant for Acle and Brundall Lions 2024

The Lions raise funds that it donates to local causes. During the 2025 financial year they donated approximately £6000 to causes including Friends of Brundall School, Snowys Nursery & Preschool, Brundall Memorial Hall as well as other good causes.

The grant from the Parish Council is to support the printing costs of posters and tickets for their popular summer fete. This is an annual event held at Brundall Memorial Hall and a vital fundraiser for the Lions. The event also provides entertainment and a fabulous social event for the village.

The Parish Council is pleased to be able to support this important cause again.

Members of the Parish Council meet once a month at a Parish Council Meeting to discuss, report, monitor and make decisions on matters concerning the village of Brundall.

The Annual Meeting of the Parish Council must be held in May, and at this meeting, the parish council chooses its Chairman for the forthcoming year. Committee membership and Parish Council representatives to other bodies are also selected at this meeting.

At the April meeting of Brundall Parish Council, councillors approved a £140 grant for Cancer Community Chest. Brundall Charity Shop

Based on The Street in Brundall, Cancer Community Chest helps people suffering from life-threatening or debilitating illnesses by providing grants to ease the financial burden of associated costs.

The charity is holding a celebration in June to receive the King's Award for Voluntary Service, an amazing achievement. Lady Dannatt will be presenting the award and they have invited all their volunteers and contributors for an afternoon tea. The grant from the Parish Council is to help support the costs of the event.

The Parish Council is pleased to support this excellent cause.
