Hi all,
It’s been a little quiet on here recently, but we’re delighted to say that the Linzee Gordon Community Playpark is now almost complete. 💚
We had been waiting on some of the final signage, including our sponsorship board, which has now been put up. We are still awaiting some sensory panels and a communication board, which unfortunately have been delayed, but we’re hopeful these will follow in the coming months.
With the main project now complete, we feel it’s time to sign off this page for good. Before we do, we just wanted to share a few final reminders and, most importantly, some final thank-yous.
If you ever witness vandalism taking place in the park, please contact the police.
If you visit the park and notice anything damaged or broken, or if bins are overflowing, please use the Moray Council “Report It” section. The playpark has now been fully handed over to Moray Council, who own and maintain it, so please do not contact members of the fundraising group regarding maintenance issues.
We have thanked so many people throughout this project, but there are a few final people we would like to mention.
A huge thank you to the Buckie Fire Station team for helping water the grass and giving it the best chance to establish and grow. Buckie Fire Station
Thank you to Neilan at Signage for creating the fantastic signs that can now be seen throughout the park.
A massive thank you also to Rood Signs for making and kindly donating the large sponsorship sign you can now see in the park. It was such a generous contribution and has finished the area off beautifully.
And another huge thank you to the Buckie Men’s Shed for helping to put up all the signs and finishing everything off so brilliantly.
Finally, after completing the project we have a small amount of funding remaining. Every remaining penny will now be transferred to Moray Council to go towards new football goals and, hopefully, the creation of a smaller, more child-friendly football pitch beside the park. It’s fair to say it’s been brilliant seeing the large groups of children playing football another brilliant outcome of the park being busy! ⚽️
Seeing the park so busy over the summer, with children playing, families meeting up , school trips before the holidays and huge groups of kids using the football area, has made every bit of work worthwhile.
Thank you to absolutely everyone who donated, fundraised, sponsored, volunteered, supported, shared posts, attended events or helped us in any way along the journey. This park simply would not be here without the support of this community.
From all of us involved in the Linzee Gordon Community Playpark project one big last thank you. 💚
We’re incredibly proud of what has been achieved, and we hope the park is enjoyed by generations of children to come. 🛝⚽️🌳
