Meet a beetle with a blaster on its bottom, find the perfect beat for a football rap, and discover which dinosaur weighed exactly the same as 10,000 cats.
Whether you want a short, funny poem about someone solving a Rubik’s Cube with their toes, or an uplifting epic that reminds you it’s brilliant to be yourself, then look no further — this special Bucks Libraries Summer Reading Challenge event Read to the Beat will get even the most reluctant readers up on their feet, and inspired by the wonder of words, the joys of everyday life and the power of pizza!
Join acclaimed children’s poet Simon Mole at Buckingham Library for a session of poems, raps, and inspired improvisation. You can even get creative yourself, and join in with some fun (and quite silly) games! Saturday 5th September from 10.30am
As well as reading from his CLiPPA prize shortlisted A First Book of Bugs, Simon will be performing his favourite poems from his new book Poetry Pizza – A Guardian Book of the Month pick and a BookTrust Recommended Read.
“A wonderful book packed full of beats, pizazz and rhythms, mingled with strong feelings.”
