Bude's volunteer lifeboat crew are there when they're needed, heading out to sea to help others in all kinds of conditions.

Today is a chance for the community to get behind them, with Bude Lifeboat Day raising vital funds to support the work of the RNLI. 💙

We'd like to wish the organisers, volunteers and everyone taking part a brilliant and successful day.

𝐇𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐚𝐭 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐠𝐞 𝐲𝐞𝐭?

Open every Sunday throughout the summer, the workshop is home to the historic Bude Canal Tub Boat, engineering artefacts and displays telling the story of Bude Canal.

You can also see the original Sand Rails and concrete setts, newly displayed for 2026 following recent restoration work.

🚤𝐁𝐮𝐝𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞𝐛𝐨𝐚𝐭 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲!

There’s a packed programme planned for 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝟑𝟏 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭, with activities and entertainment taking place throughout the day around the Lifeboat Station, Summerleaze Beach, Castle Grounds, Bude Light, Parkhouse Centre, canal and wharf.

Highlights include the 𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 & 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, traditional rowing races, live music and entertainment and the Rotary International Duck Race.
