22.40 The river is over the road and flooded into Frogmore Lane, it’s running very fast. Cars are getting through but many are turning around. High tide is at 12.45am.

A Yellow Warning for heavy rain and possible flooding has been issued and EDDC has also issued a potential flood warning.

Rain is set to begin from 2200 tonight (Weds) and continue until 1500 tomorrow (Thurs). The continuous rain is on top of already saturated ground.

We will keep posting updates re road and river conditions and if everyone can do the same on here and the village WhatsApp group, we will give that info to the pub and shop for those not on social media.

Thank you to everyone who has helped keep the village and our neighbours updated, working together to spread the word keeps us safe, reassured and ready to take any necessary action.

We have a weather warning for heavy rain in place and rain is set to continue until this afternoon, high tide is 10am.

The river is running fast and the brook quite high. If the river breaches by the bridges please be very careful, if iit gets too bad the road can be closed by the authorities and we would let you know.

Keep information up to date on here, in the pub, in the Community Shop and on the WhatsApp group. Look out for your vulnerable neighbours.

Road Salting/Gritting

Otterton is on a Primary Salting Network, route Honiton 3C.
The gritters are out today and the roads should be salted at least once.

We have a Yellow Warning of heavy rain today. We will be watching river levels and will keep in touch with the Environment Agency for advice if needed. Please share any info and check in with your neighbours. Updates for villagers without social media will be available at the shop and the Kings Arms.
The road from Otterton to Brick Cross is clear.
The road to Sidmouth by Pinn Farm is flooded and impassable for small cars (info from member of public).
Buses are running.

Today we had the most perfect weather for the annual Parish Boundary Walk and a good turn out. Thank you to everyone who came and to Iain Ure who lead the walk. It was interesting to see the new landscape post LORP, and I have to say it really is looking good.

The annual Parish Boundary Walk will be happening this Saturday, lead by Iain Ure, and meeting at 9.30 on the village green. Please come along, especially if you haven’t before, it’s a lovely walk and Iain makes it very interesting.

The Otterton Garden Club Autumn Show is on this Saturday from 2-4 in the Village Hall.

Refreshments are available from 2.30 pm, exhibits to be staged by 10.30, entrance £1 - children free.

Come on everyone and enter, it’s really easy, there’s a category to suit everyone - vegetables, flowers, photography, pot plants, fruit, cakes, jam, more information and entry forms are available at the Community Shop, give it a go!

Entry forms should be in by tomorrow (Thursday) but you can also email Iain Ure at [email protected], there is no charge for entering. Please come and support these wonderful, traditional, local events, even if you just spectate.

There will be a meeting at the Village Hall on Saturday 15 July at 7pm regarding the Jubilee Playground. The purpose of the meeting is for all interested, to have input into plans for the future of the playground, therefore parents and children, your opinions matter. If you have experience in fund raising your input would be valuable.

Everyone in the village is welcome to attend.
