☀️ As schools break up for the summer holidays, please take a moment to remind the young people in your life about the dangers of jumping into rivers, lakes and other open water.

Sadly, many young lives have been lost in open water incidents this summer across the country.

Open water may look inviting on a hot day, but cold water shock, hidden currents, sudden drops and objects below the surface can quickly turn dangerous.

Please help spread the message and encourage young people to stay safe around water. A simple conversation could save a life.

📟 16:52pm 10th July - the crew are initially dispatched to a small fire in the open, after repeated calls this is upgraded to three appliances with Buntingford joined by both Bishops Stortford appliances for a fire at a log store. The crew worked hard to ensure the neighbouring farm building wasn’t affected due to the close proximity. Hose reels, jets, drags and a ground monitor are out to use to extinguish the fire 🔥 🚿 🚒

🔥 Herts Firefighters cycle 180 miles for an incredible cause 🔥
On Sunday 28 June a team of dedicated Hertfordshire firefighters and colleagues will set off at 5am to cycle to all 29 fire stations across the county, a 180 mile round-trip.
It’s the 9th year that they’ve taken on the challenge, with all funds raised going towards the wonderful Fire Fighters Charity.

We have some heartwarming news to share following yesterday’s devastating fire at the Jungle Box in Buntingford.

While carrying out the fire investigation, we incredibly discovered a baby tortoise alive in the aftermath, despite earlier fears that all the animals had died.

A small but powerful moment after a very difficult incident ❤️

Our investigation into the cause of the fire is still ongoing.
