💧 Water Supply Update

I’ve received a further update from Thames Water this afternoon 👇

Engineers have confirmed that the area is now beginning to build pressure in the network, and their systems are showing water output again. Provided there are no further issues, pressure should continue to build and water supply will gradually return to customers throughout this afternoon.

While supply continues to stabilise, two fully staffed bottled water stations remain open for residents who need supplies:

📍 Sainsbury’s, Witan Way, Witney
📍 Morrisons, Black Bourton Road, Carterton

To make access easier for residents in other areas, Thames Water is also delivering pallets of bottled water to local locations. These are not staffed stations, but residents are welcome to take what they need.

Dear All.

It is with great sadness to inform you of the recent passing of Stuart Wallace, A former fire fighter of Burford Fire Station.

Stuart joined Burford in December 1997 and after completing nearly 27 years of service retired in August 2024.

Stuart’s funeral will be held at St Simon and St jude church in Milton Under Wychwood at 12 noon on Friday 20th February.

A guard of honour will be formed by past and present crew who served with Stuart. For further details contact Ryan

Burford bonfire information.
Please share

Tomorrow’s bonfire will be going ahead from 6pm on the recreation ground.
There is no entry price but donations at the gates are greatly appreciated as it will go towards next years event and a donation to Fire Fighters Charity

There is limited parking available at Burford School Cheltenham road. Please use the crossing outside the school for access to the field.

Please park considerably in the town and allow for local and emergency access at all times.

The crew look forward to seeing you there.

Today at 18:39, exactly 12 weeks on from the time of call for the heart-breaking incident at Bicester Motion, we will bring our tribute period to a close.

The online book of condolence will be closed, and the thin red line will be respectfully removed from our social media profiles.

We extend our thanks to everyone who has offered support, kindness and heartfelt messages. Your words have brought comfort and strength to many. All messages and tributes shared in the book of condolence will be passed onto the families of firefighters Jennie and Martyn, and local resident Dave Chester.

All funerals have now taken place, and our thoughts remain with the families, friends, and colleagues of Jennie, Martyn and Dave.

We continue to support one another and all those affected by the tragic incident at Bicester Motion.

Together we remember them and will always honour their memory.

Due to a Road traffic collision on the A40 outside Burford. The road is closed between Burford and Northleach roundabouts.

Please avoid the area and find alternative routes.

Today firefighter Martyn Sadler will be laid to rest.

Our thoughts go out to his family, friends and colleagues, as well as those of Firefighter Jenny Logan and Dave Chester, who also lost their lives at the incident in Bicester on the 15th May.

Our firefighters will taking part in the funeral procession today along with many others from within our own service & that of London & Berkshire. The procession will begin at 10:45am today & a 1 minute silence will be observed outside Bicester Fire Station to honour Martyn.
